Just DVD as far as I've seen in terms of images or information. It's a 3 pack of all three of the Balto movies. I'll give it this....the art is....a little nicer than the last release (that really crappy Balto headshot against the blue background). I mean, it's rehashed still, but I'd rather what they did here than to see the 2002 headshot again... It's available for pre-order, and it comes out next month... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GR58D ... h-keywordsI don't know why they can't just slap it on a blu-ray too, but I guess that's more effort than they really want to put in a Balto release. If they're multiple discs, I'd be willing to bet that they'll just be the old DVDs repackaged again. If it's all on one disc, I'd also be willing to bet that the movie quality, menus and bonus features won't be any different than what they've done before. Might buy it anyway, myself, just for the concept of having all 3 movies packaged together. Hopefully my predictions about the presentation will be wrong. We can only wait and see.

This may be a good deal for someone who doesn't own the films, but I personally don't think it's worth fifteen dollars. Universal never bothered to correct the missing content on the last two releases of the first film, and it has yet to be released in widescreen. I'm sure that's the case with this release as well. Also, the last single release of Balto made it sound like there were extra features added to the DVD that were never apart of the original release. That, I can confirm because I wasted money on a copy, is false. It's the same DVD from 2002. The official website that was advertising the DVD even claimed that the film was in widescreen!
I hate to do this, but I think I'm going to have to say "buyer beware" here. Like I said, if you don't own the films and would like to, I think this the way to go. But if you're someone who gets exited about stuff like this, don't get your hopes up too high. I think, unfortunately, Universal is cheating people out of their money by claiming that there is bonus material on the DVD when there isn't. Especially when the back cover has been modified to make it sound like there is more than there ever was.
On the flip side, I'm glad to see that Universal is releasing the films again. Whether or not these will be available in stores I don't know, but It will hopefully make a lot of "fans" stop whining about how Balto is "forgotten" about. Not that he ever was (because it appears a lot of on demand services have it, and Universal has been releasing DVDs), but people seem to think so. XD ...Of course you then get kids who think that the DVD release is a possible sign that Balto IV may be released. *sigh*

If I buy it, it'll likely be just for the idea of having all 3 movies in one package. I also bought the last DVD release and was tragically disappointed in it, especially seeing how it was completely identical to the 2002 dvd, aside from the awful looking rehashed case. I personally don't think a Balto 4 would be a good idea.. Sorry for my short reply.

I'm not saying that one shouldn't buy this set (it actually helps confirm suspicions, obviously), but I think people should be aware of what they're buying. A lot of fans tend to get excited, which is understandable, when they see the Balto films being sold in stores. But like I said in my original post, I do think this is a good deal for those who want the films, and are aware that the DVDs are nothing special. But if someone already has the movies and thinks this is something special, then I think they're wasting their money. lol If the film happened to be in widescreen and had the bonus features added, I would possibly reconsider. As for Balto IV, I agree. But there are fans out there who think these DVD releases will somehow bring about a fourth film. I would think a blu-ray release would be more of a realistic thought. lol

Just mentioning that they released a shot of the back cover on the Amazon post. It's nothing special, but it looks a little nicer than the last Balto DVD at least. They are all in full frame, and there is no mention of any bonus features. If there are any, I'm pretty sure they'll be the same old ones it's always had. Goes for the other two films too.

I'm guessing it's just a repackage but still, they could make some effort to at least bring them to 16/9. On my god. Yes they should I've been waiting for years for a widescreen release. Or Bluray that's widescreen. That would be like heaven. Maybe some extra bonus features about the making of the film and cast and crew interviews. I hope something like that would happen.

As would I. But I doubt it'll ever happen. I think the closest thing we're ever gonna get is the DVD that was released in Eueope.
