As you know, the deadline for the petition was the end of the year, and it's now over!
So I'll prepare to send the petition during this month. If you didn't sign it yet, do it now!

I must say I'm quite happy with how many people signed. This confirms what I already guessed for a while : there are indeed many Talespin fans around, but most Talespin fans are adults and don't have much free time to be active in the fandom, which is a shame.
Anyway, I don't know if the number of signatures is enough, but I believe it's more a matter of sending this at the right time / context. And I can't think of a better time than right now, when Disney Publishing is planning the future of the Disney comics including Disney Afternoon (considering Aaron Sparrow's messages, they clearly are thinking of releasing new Darkwing Ducks books, so Talespin could be not far behind if we make them know it still has many fans)

I'll have to find out the right addresses for Disney Comics/Publishing and Marvel, I think I'll send a letter for each company first. (then maybe others, if they don't reply)
I'll also need help to write good letters in english, but I'll post whenever I'll write them...

Any thoughts on the petition? Do you think it can have a positive effect?

The sad truth is They (Disney and Marvel) are Supporting a bill that will be the death of fandom
The bill in question is SOPA

I know about SOPA, and I think saying that is really exaggerated. With that kind of law, they want to protect their films/series against piracy, not prevent fan creations, especially when they're for shows that ended 20 years ago and which they forgot about!
In France, we already have a similar measure against piracy since a year, called Hadopi, and well, it didn't have any concrete effect for now.
It's also not exactly related to this petition, because the goal is for them to make an OFFICIAL comic.

I still haven't received an answer yet, but one of the 4 mails have been returned to me unopened.
It says "FORWARD TIME EXP RTN TO SEND", from what I can gather, this means the address I had was outdated and they have moved since then. It seems the new address is on the mail though :
135 W 50TH ST FL 7
NEW YORK

Strangely enough, today I see this news :

Disney Publishing To Move Into The Same Building As Marvel Comics

I don't see why people think Disney will tone down Marvel's comics. It's not in their interest. The only reason they're doing that to their own properties is because they're aimed at children and families, which isn't the case of Marvel comics. (well, from what I have seen anyway) Except if they want to attract a younger audience, but I think they will make new titles for that.

Anyway, I must say I only care about the future of Disney comics, I have never really been interested in the superheroes stuff.

Hopefully your right! It's sad about their old stuff being toned down, the moder PC world we live in!

Greetings to all, it sure has been awhile since I've been on here. Things have been pretty busy here for the past few months but now it has finally slowed down and I can be on here once again. Steet I have a few photos that I would like to contribute to the site's merchandise. I recently purchased two different Don Karnage plush toys. One was made by Playmates and the other was made by Applause.

Also to anyone who might be interested I am currently in the research process of a little project I have been looking to do. A complete computer (possibly driveable) model of the Iron Vulture. If I can I will even put ole Karnage at the wheel ;). My goal is to make it fully detailed inside and out with a workable beak. So if anyone can help me look for pictures, gifs, anything of the Iron Vulture inside and out that would be wonderful. This is a masterpiece of a machine and deserves a proper modeling in a game.

Well that's pretty cool! Yes I'd like to see them.
As for your project, that sounds like a lot of work, I'd like to see that too! Well you can find some screenshots on the site :

/talespin ... &id_film=9

If you want more, I suggest getting the DVDs or check if you can find the episodes on Youtube (which is becoming very difficult now)

NB : I'm not sure this is the right topic to post this, but that's OK

Yeah I apologize for that, honestly I don't think there is a proper topic for this sort of thing so I just found one that had more recent activity.

I do have the DVDs, trust me I watch them frequently. :P

Talking about the petition, I have extended the goal to 2000 and the deadline to 30th June 2012 (because, yes, we're going to keep it running)

EDIT : Just as a reference for myself when I'll send another batch of letters, here are the addresses to more Disney units :

The Walt Disney Company Corporate Office | Headquarters500 S. Buena Vista St. Burbank, CA 91521(818)560-1000

1313 Harbor Blvd. P.O. Box 3232 Anaheim, CA 92803-6161

Just for your information, I am sending today a new batch of snail mails to various departments of Disney / Marvel. Hey, what's the worst that can happen?

Also, there's a new petition for TaleSpin Volume 3 online by our partner "Open Vault Disney" :

Please sign it!
