Well Since I wasn't so pleased with the Fanfic I placed up here I decided to remake them all here is what I got so far And please be kind, I wouldn't mind your honest opinion though.
An old lioness by the name of Zuri sat down in front of numerous lion and lioness cubs that were playing and roughhousing. “Alright Cubs gather around and I’ll tell you a story that you all will enjoy, in fact it is a true story not only about me but about my whole family, are you all ready to hear it?” she asked them, she looked at all the cubs nodding heads. Just as soon as she was about to begin the story two lion’s walked up to them, “Hey aunt Zuri what are you doing?” the male asked, “Oh hey Nyota, just telling the cubbies here our story,” “Cool, hey Namna do you want to hear the story?” Nyota asked the female standing next to him, “Sure I’d love that.” Zuri chuckled “Alright here it goes.”
Our story begins with all the Pridelands animals gathered around at the bottom. What caught their attention was a young baboon, holding up a lioness cub, the name of this cub went by the name of Zuri. As all the animals bowed their heads in respect for the Heiress of Pride Rock the baboon then lowered the cub and began walking back to the parents, Masa the mother and Maana the Father. “Here you go you two here is your little Zuri,” the baboon said with happiness in her voice. “Thank you Ponya,” Masa said with a smile plastered on her face, “Yeah thanks you will always be our families’ healer,” Maana said also with a smile. Ponya bowed her head in respect, “Thank you your majesties, I shall be going back, and have a wonderful life with your beautiful daughter and with that said Ponya left. The king and queen smiled and bowed back as the baboon left, “Well Masa honey, I think it’s time we put little Zuri to bed she needs her sleep and so do we, we’ve been up for quite awhile,” Maana said with a chuckle, “Yes I guess we should,” she then picked up Zuri by the scruff of her neck and carried her inside the cave, “Time to go to sleep Zuri,” she said in a muffled voice. As soon as the three went in, their bodies disappearing into the darkness of the cave. The night was peaceful not a sound was heard only the sounds of the snoring pride, but other than that all was quiet...“Wahhhh!” a cry was heard but all the pride did not budge the only ones that did were the parents that the cry belonged to. “Aww come on Zuri your okay, don’t cry sweetie,” Masa said in a soft motherly voice that one day Zuri will come to love. Zuri continues to cry, the tired mother smiled and gently pulled her close to her chest and hugged the cub licking her on the top of the head, “Shhh, mommies here Zuri, and so is Daddy,” she whispered into the infants ear, then the crying stopped, Masa smiled at this then her smile went even wider as she saw that Zuri began to fall asleep in and snuggle against her chest. Masa then began to fall asleep her head resting next to Zuri’s tiny body and slowly drifted off to sleep. Masa’s eyes opened slowly and groggily as she felt the little bundle of fur squirm against her body, she chuckled a little to herself. “She’s dreaming,” she said in a small whisper, she then turned her head to her left to find that Maana was sleeping against her, she smiled to herself, “Maana wake up time for Border patrol you need to make sure that there aren’t any jackals out there that can hurt our baby,” Maana yawned, “Alright, I’m up,” he said as he stretched, “I’ll be back in a few hours,” he said as he kissed his mate on the head, “Love you,” and with that Maana left the den. Masa watched as her mate left the den then her eyes gazed down at Zuri, “There he goes, he is making our land safe for you.”
Chapter 2
Zuri pranced out of the pride’s den as she looked out to the beautiful lush green lands she called home. She smiled, her eyes scanning the land, spotting a couple of herds of Zebra and antelope and also flocks of birds. “Zuri hang on a second,” a voice called to her, Zuri turned her head, “Yes Mom?” she asked, “Before you go out and play I want you to recite what your father and I have told you about leaving Pride Rock,” Zuri sighed, “Alright, ‘When there is danger I come home, if a storm is coming I come home, if I’m lost I find a safe place to hide and wait for you or dad to find me, and I mustn’t go near any of these places, The Outlands, The Elephant Graveyard, and The gorge.’ That’s it Mom,” Zuri said smiling, Masa smiled back and rubbed her paw over her daughters head, “Good girl, go on and play,” she said patting her rump, “Thanks mom,” Zuri said as she pranced down Pride Rock. As Zuri basically skipped to her spot where she met her friends, she spotted one of them Mori, her friend since cubhood. “Mori!!” Zuri called, Mori turned her head around, “Hey Zuri what took ya?” “Eh I had to recite what my parents always make me say before I leave, as the Princess of the Pride I have to be careful ,” “I guess you’re right, well let’s get going we need to meet Laini,” Zuri groaned, “You know she’ll get us in trouble again,” “Yeah I know but we never get caught,” Zuri chuckled, “This is true,” Mori broke in, “Well are we going to go or just stand here and talk all day?” Then both Mori and Zuri ran off to Laini. As the two made their way to Laini she had a big smile smeared on her face, Zuri went wide eyed, “Uh oh she has that smile again,” she said to Mori, “Laini where are we going this time?” Mori asked, Laini’s smooth talking voice said, “We are going to…” she looked around to make sure that they were the only ones there, “The Elephant Graveyard,” Zuri’s eyes widened, “Umm I’m not suppose to go there,” “Why because mommy and daddy said so, come on princess live a little,” Mori chimed in, “Come on Laini stop it, if she doesn’t want to she doesn’t…” Zuri then interrupted, “I’ll go!” Mori and Laini were shocked, “You are finally going to do something dangerous with us?” Laini said, “Shut up Laini,” Zuri said smirking.
After a few minutes the trio arrived at the cliff side that led to the Elephant Graveyard, they all looked at it in amazement, then Laini broke the silence, “Who goes first?” she asked smiling as she walked behind Zuri smiling mischievously and then pushed her down the sloped cliff side. Zuri squealed as she rolled down the slope, once at the bottom she looked up and glared at Laini, “What did you do that?!” she yelled as Mori and Laini slid down the slope, “Hey it got you down didn’t it?” Laini said, “Laini that was a little harsh what if Zuri did that to you?” Mori said, “Whatever guys we’re here at least,” Zuri and Mori looked at each other, “Well I guess you’re right,” they both said in unison. As they ventured deeper into the graveyard, they began hearing the wind blowing through the hole’s in the skulls and bones, the wind making a high pitched whistle noise, shadow’s began to form and seemed to follow the cubs, “Do you get the feeling that we're being watched?” Zuri asked out loud, “You always have that feeling Zuri now hurry up I want to see the big Elephant skull,” Laini said, Zuri and Mori followed closely behind, “Hey Mori I really think we should go back,” Zuri said a little frightened, “I think so to but we can’t leave Laini here on her own,” Mori replied back, “Let’s just see that stupid Elephant’s head and get out of here before our parents realize where we are.” As Masa sat at the tip of Pride Rock she scanned the area of a potential dangers…and her daughter, “She should be back for lunch by now, Where could she be?” she asked herself, she got up and walked down Pride Rock to search for her.
As the cubs continued through the desolate land they finally found the big elephant skull, Laini was the first to speak, “Wow there it is, it’s so big,” she then looked at Zuri and Mori, “What do you guys think?” “Well I think we’ve seen enough,” Zuri being smarter said, “Yeah Laini I think we should go, I have this feeling that we’re being watched.” Just as soon as Mori said ‘watched’ numerous of jackals appeared from every shadow growling at the cubs. Then one of them came up to them snarling, “What are you doing in or land?!!” he growled, “W-w-w-we were just looking around right guys?” Laini asked, Zuri and Mori nodded, “So we’ll just be going,” “Stop we never said you could leave,” the male loomed over them, but just as he got close they ran off, “Get them and bring them back to me alive,” he said with an evil grin. As the cubs ran as fast as their little legs can carry them not bothering to even look back, “Come on guys don’t stop running!!” Zuri yelled behind them as they jumped onto a tusk bone it broke just as Zuri was about to jump off her leg got caught in the small hole it created, she slowly got up and tried to jump but couldn’t move, “Help me!!!” she shouted for her friends, they both came back and tried to help her, “Come on Zuri,” Laini said, “I’m trying,” just then the jackals came right around the corner, one jumped at them, the three girls screamed, but then came the most earth shattering sounds, a roar…the three girls looked in amazement. Who was this savior? Was their savior kind or evil? These thoughts raced through their minds, then the figure turned, it was Zuri’s mother. Masa turned to the girls, and jumped to Zuri and pulled her out of the bone, “Come on,” she said as she carried Zuri. The four got to the slope where they first got into the Elephant Graveyard; Masa put Zuri on the ground, “Climb I’ll make sure that they won’t get to us…Hurry.” Once the three girls got up the slope they turned to see if Masa followed…a few minutes passed and Masa appeared, “They’re gone,” she then began to walk away, “You three follow me,” she said in a stern voice. The three cubs complied, they followed Masa to a baobab tree, she sat down, “Zuri I’m appalled, didn’t you recite what you shouldn’t do? Why would you go there?” she said on the verge of yelling, Zuri stared at the ground starting to cry, “I…” Zuri began but then Laini butted in, “It was my fault, I talked her into it, it’s all my fault,” Masa turned to Laini, “Your mother will hear of this, both of your mothers,” she said as she also looked at Mori, “Go home,” she said, “Zuri, I need to talk to you,” she said in a soft but stern voice, Zuri walked up to her mother right in between her front legs. “Zuri just tell me why did you let Laini talk you into going there?” “She said that I needed to live a little, I’m may be just princess mom, I can’t just hang around in the same place,” “Zuri…” “I know your disappointed in me mom, I would be too and I am disappointed that I went there, I was scared, I was never this scared in my whole life,” Masa listened to her daughter intently , “Just being there was scary,” “But why…” “Didn’t I leave? I didn’t want to leave my friends there, as future heiress to the Pridelands I can’t let anything happen to the pride.” Masa stopped Zuri by covering her mouth, “Zuri stop, yes you did a very irresponsible thing, but you did a brave thing you wanted your friends to be safe…but I can’t let this deed go unpunished, you are confined to the den for 3 weeks do I make myself clear sweetie,” she said softly and motherly, Zuri nodded holding back a sob, not out of sadness but out of fear of what had happened just minutes ago. Zuri couldn’t hold it in any longer she just let the floodgates open, she then cried into her mother’s chest. This didn’t catch Masa off guard she expected this would come out eventually, “Shh shh shh, My sweet little Zuri, you’re okay now, don’t cry, I’m here,” she said as she kissed her on the head.
Chapter 3 As Zuri lay curled in the far corner of the pride’s den her mother came in, “Zuri come on out, just because your grounded doesn’t mean you can’t be outside every now and then,” Masa smiled, Zuri looked up at her mother and smiled, “I guess you’re right,” Zuri got up and walked with her mother, “To let you know I haven’t told your father yet, this will be between you and me, you got that?” she asked the last part, “Yes ma’am,” Zuri said with a sad sigh, Masa smiled, “Come on smile,” right when Masa said that Zuri looked up at her mother. Zuri smiled, her mother’s smile always found a way to cheer her up. Once Masa saw the smile on her daughters muzzle and chuckled, “There you go,” Masa then faced forward. As the two walked a little farther Zuri had to ask a question, “Mom where are we going?” “That my dear Zuri is a secret best said until we get there,” Masa said, Zuri went wide eyes, ‘It must be special,’ she said to herself, “I know that look Zuri, the place we’re going to is the place where your father and I met, and conceived you,” Masa said smiling at the memory, “Heh some many wonderful memories, one’s that you will someday have.” They soon passed the water hole, Masa stopped and looked straight ahead, “Hey Zuri look it’s your father,” she then looked down at her daughter, “Stay here while I tell him where we’re going,” Zuri nodded, “Yes ma’am,” Zuri sat down shifting from side to side. Maana looked surprised, “Are you sure you should be taking her there now, I mean she is only a cub after all,” “Na’” Masa called Maana by his nickname she has always had, “Come on, we did it there as teenagers, and we also did it there as adults, you know I’m not going to tell her what we did there she will figure that out on her own,” she smiled at her mate, Maana sighed, “Alright, just don’t go into any detail, Mas’,” Masa giggled, “Don’t worry I won’t,” she said kissing Maana on the cheek. She turned her head to where Zuri was, “Zuri come on, let’s go,” she said, Zuri jumped up and pranced up to her mother and father. Maana smiled at his small daughter, “Hey there baby girl,” he said in his fatherly voice, “Hi daddy,” she said rubbing against his front leg purring. He chuckled had rubbed his big paw over Zuri’s small head, “Go on now mommy still wants to show you something,” he said pushing Zuri along, “Alright Dad,” she said going under Masa, “You ready?” she asked her mother, “Yes Zuri we’re going,” she chuckled. Zuri eye’s were trained on her mother that was shading her from the sun, the same thought always ran through Zuri’s mind everyday when she spent time with her, ‘She is so kind, she is caring, wise, knowledgeable, she is everything that everybody loves, no wonder why she is respected by everyone.’
Then Masa snapped her out of her trance like state, “ZURI WATCH OUT!!!!!” Masa yelled, “What?” Zuri asked, but it was too late she had fallen down a steep slope that entered the jungle. Zuri rolled down the hill which felt like it went on forever, she could hear her mother’s voice calling to her from above, “Zuri, I’m coming,” Masa then jumped down the slope and began sliding on her paws to get to her daughter. Then just like that Masa caught up to her daughter, she stopped Zuri from rolling and stopped herself from sliding even more. Masa looked at Zuri to see if she was okay, panting heavily she asked her, “Zuri are you okay honey?” worry in her voice, Zuri was in one piece her head felt light headed, she was bruised but not badly, “Yeah I think so, just dizzy,” “That will pass, come on I’ll carry you the rest of the way down the hill,” Zuri nodded, Masa bent her head down and picked up her daughter, and began walking slowly and carefully down the slope. Once down the slope Masa placed Zuri on the ground, “There we go,” Masa then looked up and smiled, “Zuri we’re here,” Zuri looked up with wide eyes, “This is where we were going?” “Yes sweetie, this is the jungle where your father and I would meet up, I was from a different pride, and our prides never got along with each other. One day I will tell you about it, but not now,” Masa then walked through the brush with Zuri hot on her heels.
The two got to the waterfall and stared, “What do you think Zuri?” Masa asked her, “It’s…It’s beautiful,” “I knew you’d like it,” Masa said turning back, “I just wanted to show this place to you Zuri…” Masa paused, “I’ve added a new thing to your amendment, I’ll recite it first and then you alright?” Zuri nodded, but in her head she was thinking, ‘Great the amendment is longer,’ “Alright pay close attention, ‘When there is danger I come home, if a storm is coming I come home, if I’m lost I find a safe place to hide and wait for you or dad to find me, and I mustn’t go near any of these places, The Outlands, The Elephant Graveyard, and The gorge, one place that is safe is the jungle the jungle of Arari,’ you see not that much now recite back to me please,” Zuri sighed, “Okay mom, ‘When there is danger I come home, if a storm is coming I come home, if I’m lost I find a safe place to hide and wait for you or dad to find me, and I mustn’t go near any of these places, The Outlands, The Elephant Graveyard, and The gorge, one place that is safe is the jungle the jungle of Arari,’ how was that?” Zuri asked, “Very good, your prefect memory never disappoints me,” Zuri then looked at the ground, “Except for that one time,” she whispered, “What was that dear?” Masa asked, “Nothing mother,” Zuri said sweetly smiling at her mom. Masa smirked then rolled her eyes, “Alright,” she said, “Well Zuri we should get back, it’ll be dark soon, we can’t stay here or your daddy will worry about us.” A few hours later the sun went down and up came the moon, Zuri and Masa arrived shortly after, they were greeted by Maana, “So how was it Zuri?” he asked her, “It was great I want to go again,” “Someday Zuri someday you will go again,” Masa said smiling at Maana, “Come on you two time for bed,” Maana said walking away to their sleeping spot. Once there Masa curled around Zuri keeping her little body warm from the cool evening breeze, “Night Mama,” Zuri said cuddling close between Masa’s stomach and chest, “Night my Binti,” she said softly, “My princess. Tamu Ota.” She then put her head in her paws and fell asleep shortly after. As the Pridelanders slept one part of the area wasn’t…the wastelands. A low growl echoed through the dark cave, “Why are we here?” a female voice asked, “We are here because you…I mean we disobeyed King Maana and Queen Masa?” the female turned, “No we are here because they kicked us out of our home,” “But Ubazai…” “We will get our home back, I will see to it,” she then walked to a little rock ledge, there lay a little bundle of fur, “You will have a good home, it’s what mommy and daddy would’ve wanted Kishindo my little brother.” Ubazai then curled around Kishindo’s sleeping form, “No matter what, we will live in the Pridelands once again.” Kishindo felt the warmth of his sister’s body heat and smiled to himself.
Chapter 4
“Come on Zuri it’s time for your first hunt come on!!” Masa yelled up to the cave her daughter slept in, “Alright I’m coming,” she said in a sleepy tone, she then walked out and everyone turned her fur was golden her under belly was cream colored. “There’s my princess,” Maana said smiling, “She has grown up so fast Masa,” Masa smiled and watched her daughter walk down the path of Pride Rock towards them. As Zuri reached her parents she stood in front of them, “Well I’m ready,” she said smiling, “Not yet,” Masa said, as she walked around her daughter in circles, “You are ready your muscle’s are well toned, it will help you bring down what you want,” Masa said as she looked Zuri in the eyes, “Do us proud honey,” “I will dad and mom,” she nuzzled her parents and was off. Maana and Masa watched their only child run off on her first hunt, “She was a great cub,” Maana said, “She was and still is a great child,” Masa smiled at the disappearing form of Zuri. As Zuri walked through the Savannah searching for prey…prey that would show that she is willing to join her mother and the other lionesses on hunts with them. As she scanned the open area she spotted herds of zebra, antelope and Wildebeest. “Which one which one,” she said to herself, she then came to a conclusion; since she is by herself she will take either the zebra or the antelope. But she really wanted to impress the pride, so she turned her attention to the wildebeest and began to inch her way closer to her prey. Her heart pounding in her chest, as she inched closer she slowly stuck her head up to spy the weakest one, it didn’t take long to find one, and it was limping. “Perfect,” Zuri said to herself. She moved closer and closer to the herd, one snapped its head up; it alerted the rest of the herd and others near them they all dispersed and ran off. Zuri lunged at the stampeding herd, trying to get to her target. The wounded wildebeest tried to run stay with group but ended up falling behind, Zuri lunged for it and at the same time so did another. Both lions collided into each other; the lion sat up and rubbed his head, “Why don’t you watch where you’re….” He paused, what caught his eyes was a beautiful lioness. Zuri also rubbed her head, “Ow, that really hurt,” she said, to her surprise she was staring at a male lion, “I’m sorry…I didn’t mean…” “It’s alright,” the male said quickly, Zuri started to speak next, “Not to be rude or anything but what are you doing here?” “I was hunting,” “A male hunter haven’t seen any of those in my pride,” “Where are you from?” “The Pridelands,” his eyes widened, ‘Ubazai said I had to get close to one of them in order to kill the rulers,’ “Are you okay?” “Yeah I’m fine, just thinking,” “Thinking about who rules the land now?” “Yeah that’s it,” he lied. “Well why don’t I show you around here,” “That’d be nice,” the male started to follow her, ‘Wow she is beautiful, I’ve forgotten about the plan,’ “Oh by the way I never caught your name,” the male shook his head snapping him back to reality, “My name is Kishindo, what’s yours?” he asked, “My name is Zuri,” “Beautiful lioness and beautiful name,” Zuri titled her head to the side, “You think I’m beautiful?” Kishindo covered his mouth, “Did I say that out loud?” Zuri nodded, “I’m sorry,” “its okay a lot of lions that I’ve met think that,” “Really?” “Yeah but they weren’t the right ones for me, I’m waiting to find the one that doesn’t love me for my body.” Kishindo was stunned; the male’s only loved her for her body? Now that is just plain wrong, “Now any male that only loves you for your body is just not the one for you, they need to love you for more than that. Like your personality for instance,” Zuri blushed, “We just met and you are already flirting with me,” “I’m not flirting I’m just stating the obvious.” From a distance Ubazai watched Kishindo, “What the hell is that boy doing, he’s not even forcing her.” Kishindo knew that his sister was watching but now since he met this beautiful creature he forgot all about the plan and didn’t want any part of it, his heart was taken by this lioness. Zuri and Kishindo both began their walk back to Pride Rock.
The two soon made it back, but not seen yet, “****** I forgot to bring back my first prey, they are not going to be happy,” “Just tell them what happened,” Zuri sighed, “I’ll try, but the rest of the pride expect me to bring something back,” Masa and Maana soon came out of the cave, “Zuri where have you been?” Maana started, “And where is your first hunting prize?” Masa finished, “I was hunting but I accidently…” “She bumped into me your Majesties, it’s my fault,” the king and queen turned their heads towards Kishindo, “And you are?” Maana asked defensively, “I am Kishindo sir,” “Well we thank for bringing our daughter back here,” “Your welcome,” “But…” Zuri then interrupted, “He can stay,” all three turned to her, “Daddy I’m princess I can make a decision, it is my first decision, and…I trust him, he brought me back here after all.” “Well yes he did, but Zuri this is a big decision,” “Honey that’s enough,” Masa said, “If she made the decision, then it should be her decision, we’ll keep an eye on him, we’ll be making sure that he won’t do anything to threaten the pride,” Maana sighed deeply, “Alright Masa,” his gaze then turned on Kishindo, “If you try anything I will make sure to put you in your place,” Kishindo nodded, “Yes sir,” and with that said the king and queen left, but before Masa followed her mate she stopped right next to Zuri, she leaned to her ear, “He’s a keeper,” she winked, “MOM!!” Zuri shouted playfully, blushing only slightly. Masa giggled at her daughters’ response she always loved messing with her daughters head. Once Masa left Zuri turned to Kishindo, “Hehe sorry about that,” she giggled sheepishly, Kishindo chuckled, “It’s alright, parents are like that…so I’ve been told,” Zuri looked at him confused, “What do you mean?” Kishindo sighed, “I never knew my parents, I’ve been taken care of by my sister,” “Aww I’m sorry,” “it’s okay, I’ve lived with it for a long time since I was just an infant,” Kishindo looked at the ground sadly, “I just wish I knew more about them,” “You may not know them, but they are always with you, so that’s what I’m told by my parent’s that if they die someday they’ll always be with my in my heart.” As the day progresses Kishindo and Zuri began to get closer to each other. “Hey Zuri I have a question,” Zuri turned her head to Kishindo, “Yeah?” “What’s it like being royalty?” “It isn’t as great as you think,” Zuri began, “Oh and why’s that?” “Well growing up as a cub, I always had to recite a little rule every time I wanted to leave, but since I’m older I don’t really need to recite it anymore, but I’m still being watched to make sure I’m safe,” “Man sounds like fun,” Kishindo said sarcastically. “Yeah I know, but upside is everyone respect’s me because of me being the princess,” “For a princess you sure don’t act like one,” “Well let’s just say I can thank a certain friend for that,” Zuri giggled, “Speaking of which you haven’t met them yet, follow me,” Kishindo happily obliged. Mori and Laini were sitting at the edge of the water hole staring at it, “Remember we made a bet of who could hold their breath the longest under water?” Laini began, “Yeah I almost won,” Mori said, “I miss being a cub, sometimes,” as Laini finished her sentence she heard footsteps behind them she turned her to see who it was, “Hey Mori check it out its Zuri…and she with a male,” she said, saying male in a singsong voice, Mori to was shocked, “I can’t believe it,” Zuri and Kishindo walked up to the two, “Hey guys I want to meet Kishindo,” Laini and Mori sat up and walked to the two, “Well Zuri you finally found a male,” Zuri’s eyes widened when Laini said that, “Laini, I’m not ready for that yet , I will ask him when I’m ready to, or if he’s ready to, whichever comes first.” Kishindo was smiling in the back of his mind, ‘She really likes me? YES!!’ he shook his head clearing it. Zuri noticed this, “Hey you okay?” she asked, “Hmm? Oh yeah I’m fine, just thinking,” “Again? You are a thinker aren’t you?” Kishindo smiled, “Perhaps…just thinking of asking someone something later on today,” “Alright,” Zuri said not realizing that he was talking about her. After a few hours Zuri sat up, “Alright guys I’m gonna get going, Kishindo needs to know where he has to sleep,” “Alright guys bye!” Mori and Laini said in unison. “So you wanted to say something to someone I want to know who this person is,” Zuri said prodding Kishindo for answers, Kishindo gulped, “Well she’s a girl and we’ve just met, that I like,” “Ohh is it Laini?” “No,” “Is it Mori?” “No, it’s you,” Zuri’s eyes widened, “You like me?” she asked, Kishindo nodded, “Yeah, your striking beauty, your personality, everything about you,” Zuri blushed, “Thank you,” she said nuzzling him, “That was very nice of you to say,” Zuri smiled, “And I really like you too…a lot,” both nuzzled each other purring all the while. But as they were nuzzling they were being watched from different sides, the first pair of eyes to watch them was Maana, they second pair belonged to Ubazai. Maana was somewhat angered by the affection that this male was giving his only daughter. While Ubazai was growling, “You will do as I say Kishindo if you don’t you and your precious little girlfriend will die, by the claw’s of me and our new alliance just you wait dear little brother,” Ubazai then turned and ran off back to the wastelands. Once she got back she was greeted by a low threatening growl, “Where have you been Ubazai?” the low and deep commanding voice asked, “Went to see what younger brother is doing,” Ubazai said with slight fear in her voice, “Heh, and what exactly is brother doing?” Ubazai’s eyes widened, she was hoping to avoid this question, “Well he’s with a female,” she gulped, “With the princess,” the large male’s eyes sparkled, “With the princess, that’s a good brother, he is doing exactly what we all planned,” he laughed evilly but was then interrupted by Ubazai, “Well actually it seems that he forgot all about the plan,” “WHAT!!?” the male yelled, “Baya keep calm,” “CALM YOU WANT ME TO BE CALM!!” Ubazai flinched, Baya her’s and Kishindo’s older brother, always seemed to strike fear into everybody, no one dared to even talk back to him. “Baya, even if Kishindo failed I can still carry out the plan, I will gather as much of an alliance to help us,” Baya just glared at Ubazai , “Fine, since Kishindo appears to have betrayed us for some princess, that’s just fine his life will be ended,” Baya laughed maniacally. “Come on Kishindo let’s get going,” Zuri said to the lion, “Where are we going?” “To a special place,” Zuri said smiling, “My mom took me there a lot when I was a cub,” Zuri said, “Let’s go, I know you’ll love it,” the two then walked off. Masa and Maana stood a top Pride Rock, Masa smiling and Maana giving off a glare, “Oh calm down Maana, she’s not a cub anymore ,” “I know but she is still our little girl and will always will be, I just don’t want anything to happen to her,” “Nothing will happen to her dear,” Masa said before walking back into their den. “He better take care of her, if anything happens to her I’ll personally, deal with him myself.” Zuri and Kishindo walked 45 minutes and they were at the entrance to the Jungle, “Well we’re almost there,” “Good my feet are killing me,” Zuri giggled, “Oh and be careful there is a slope that is very steep, I feel down there when I was a cub,” “It does seem like a very far drop,” “Yeah when I feel my mom came after me,” Zuri said, she then put a paw onto part of the slope and slid down, shortly followed by Kishindo. “We’re almost there,” she said, “Didn’t you say that about 15 minutes ago?” “Hehe I mean it Kishindo, just over there, passed them trees and then boom we’re there.” As they walked past the trees Kishindo eyes lay upon a sparkling waterfall, “Wow it’s beautiful,” “This is where my mom and I always go when we want mother daughter time,” “Is this a new thing for us now?” Kishindo asked, “Possibly,” Zuri said, “But there is one thing that you haven’t seen yet, behind the waterfall,” Zuri walked forward motioning Kishindo with her tail, “Come on don’t just stand there follow me,” Kishindo complied, and then he stopped as he saw Zuri disappear behind the waterfall. Kishindo was about take another step when a voice caught his attention , “Kishindo what do you think you’re doing?” Kishindo turned not being afraid, he knew who this voice belonged to, “Hello Ubazai,” “You were suppose to follow the plan, Big Brother isn’t happy about you being with that tramp,” she growled, “Don’t talk about her that way!” he snapped, “Oh I’m sorry did I hit a nerve point, you better go along with the plan, or there will be war…Our pride against them,” she then turned away and vanished into the jungle and back to the Wastelands. Kishindo turned around and was face to face with a soaking wet Zuri, “Who was that?” she asked, “That…was my…Sister,” he said, “What did she want?” Kishindo did say anything, “Kishindo?” “I…” he walked towards the waterfall, then stopped at the water’s edge, “She made up a plan along with my older brother, to take back the Pridelands, training to be the perfect killer,” Kishindo began, “But running into you changed everything, I didn’t want anything to do with the plan, after seeing how beautiful you looked, and how you treat others, you were the perfect girl for me,” Zuri was confused, “Were?” “I’m going back to my pride, I’m telling them that I can’t go through with it,” Zuri was silent, looking down at the ground, “I’m sorry Zuri, I love you, but it won’t work out if I’m the cause of this war,” he got up to his four feet and began walking away. But he didn’t get far, he was tackled by Zuri, “Don’t go,” she said tears in her eyes, “I don’t care if you’re the cause for the war that is bound to happen, The Pridelands pride is a strong one, we won’t go down without a fight,” she said still looking down at him, “You will come back to the pride with me and you will tell my parents what you told me, just speak from your heart.”
“YOU WHAT!!?” Maana shouted, “DADDY DON”T HURT HIM!!,” Zuri shouted at him. Maana took in a deep breath and began counting, “10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1,” Maana he sighed, “Why would you come here when your pride was banished?” Maana asked Kishindo, “I did it because of my brother, he says that because you killed our parents,” “We did no such thing, they killed themselves, they were mad with power, and that led to their downfall,” “Look I’m not blaming it is my Brother and Sister that are blaming, I don’t want any part of their scheme,” Kishindo said staring at the ground. Maana approached him but before he got close to him Zuri stood in his way, thinking that he might hurt the one she loves, “Zuri what are you doing?” Maana asked, “I’m not going to let you hurt him,” “Move out of the way Zuri,” “No dad I love him, I’m staying right here with him,” this caught Maana, Kishindo and Masa off guard, “You what?” Maana asked, “I…Love…Him,” she said slowly. Maana backed away from his daughter, “I understand Zuri, I can’t keep you from what your heart wants…but what I can do is, keep him away until I know I can trust him, after all he was a part of assassinating me and your mother,” Zuri nodded and looked at Kishindo, she smiled softly, “Dad I’m going for a walk,” Zuri said, she then walked away leaving the three alone.
As Zuri walked she couldn’t help that this whole thing was her fault. “Because of me Kishindo is going to be under constant surveillance, I shouldn’t have told him to tell my parents,” she said as tears began to run down her cheeks. Zuri kept on walking unaware of the presence of that lurked in the shadows. “When do we attack her?” a low male said, “Until she gets to the waterhole, so she won’t have many options of escaping,” a female voice said. They figures watched Zuri for some time, “She’s almost there,” the female said, after a few more minutes Zuri got to the Waterhole, “NOW!!” the female shouted, and just then a pack of jackals jumped out of the brush, “SURROUND HER!!!” Zuri looked all around her, “What do you want?” she asked scared. Then some of the jackals moved away to let in the female that led the attack. Zuri went wide eyed, “You?” she couldn’t believe her eyes, “Kishindo’s sister?” Ubazai smiled wickedly, “Yes and I know who you are…you are Zuri daughter of King Maana and Queen Masa, the ones that killed Kishindo’s, mine and Baya’s parents,” “They didn’t do that,” Zuri said, but as she said it she was met with a clawed paw to her head, she let out a yelp of pain. “ZURI!!!” a voice shouted, when Zuri opened her eyes she saw Kishindo standing over her, growling at Ubazai, “Leave her be Ubazai,” Kishindo said still growling. Ubazai took a step forward, “Never, you betrayed us, there will be war, but first we’re going to teach you a lesson,” Ubazai said, “So no mercy,” she commanded, just then there was a loud roar, Ubazai turned and saw the Pridelands lions coming towards here, “***** it!” Ubazai cursed, “RETREAT!!” she shouted. Ubazai and the jackals all ran off. Maana and Masa both ran to Zuri , when the approached their daughter what shocked them not only was Kishindo standing over her watching Ubazai run off, but their beautiful daughter received scars on her face, “Zuri are you okay?” Masa asked, “Yeah I think so,” she said unaware of the wounds she received on her face, she then looked up and couldn’t see through her left eye, “Why can’t I see through my left eye?” Kishindo then spoke up, “Ubazai she hit you claws out, she gave you scars one of which is over your eye, the others your cheek, and nicked your ear,” Zuri was breathing heavily, “Will I be able to see through my eye again?” she asked, “We don’t know honey, well have to see Ponya, she’ll know, can you stand?” Masa said worried for her daughters well being. Zuri got up and wobbled a bit, “I don’t think so,” Kishindo was about to help her but Maana stopped him, “Not you…I want to talk to you alone,” Kishindo nodded still a little afraid of him, “Yes sir,” Masa walked over to her daughter and had her lean against her as the both walked to Ponya’s tree. Maana stood still watching them leave, then he turned to face Kishindo, “You were part of the plan to assassinate me and Masa, the plan was to act like a friend, you were getting close to my daughter to get close to us, you disobeyed your Brothers and sisters orders, then you disobeyed me by getting close to my daughter, but of a good intention, you protected her with your life, and for that I’m eternally grateful, I owe you my life,” Maana then did something that nobody would expect the King to do he bowed to Kishindo, “You are welcome into my pride,” Kishindo was stunned, Th-thank y-you, your majesty,” he said, “Your quite welcome, now let’s go, I’m sure you want to know how Zuri is doing.” After a few minutes Kishindo arrived at Ponya’s tree, he spotted Masa, “Hey Masa, how’s she doing,” Masa sighed, “She’s doing fine, the scars won’t heal completely,” “What about her eye will she see through it?” Masa looked at the ground, and then looked at him dead in the eyes, “Go see for yourself,” she said, Kishindo nodded and walked in the direction Masa motioned to. Once he got there he saw Zuri lying down on the ground with Ponya hovering over her, “Ah there you are she’s been asking for you,” “Is she okay?” Ponya walked over to Kishindo, “She is fine, her eye will heal, but it will take some time,” Kishindo sighed happily, “Thank God.” He walked up to Zuri and sat down next to her, “Hey babe,” he said softly, Zuri moaned a little, her one good eye opened, “Hey,” she said, she looked up at him, “So what Ponya say about my eye?” Kishindo chuckled as he went down on his stomach getting eye level to Zuri, “She said it will heal in a few days,” Zuri sighed with relief, “Thank you god,” Kishindo smiled, “You have no idea how glad I am to see that your alright.” Zuri sat up with some difficulty, she nuzzled against Kishindo, “I love you…and…thank you for saving me,” “Anytime, I love you too much, I will not let anything happen to you.”
