Ok, enough of this nonsense! I've created a REAL Lion King timeline, based on HOUR of reliable internet research. You think otherwise? Post and prove me wrong! This is the most logical set for the events of the both films, although many things are only speculation, because they are not fully explained. The timeline is based on 'human years'- I wrote it just like if the characters would have been people. So here we go:
YEAR 1:-'Lion King' begins
-Simba is born (and perhaps Nala as well, they are pretty close in age)
-Mufasa and Scar are most likely in their late 20s - early 30s (they seem older tho, and Scar sound like he's the older one imo, but I guess Disney just didn't pay attention to these kind of detales)
YEAR 6:-Mufasa dies (aged about 35)
-Simba (about 6 yo) is exiled
-Scar takes the throne (at the age of about 35, he sure got what he wanted for so long
)
Now let's assume, that Scar's reign lasted about 15 years. In this case:
YEAR 8:-About this time Nuka is born of Zira (so I don't see why can't he be Scar's son, if you disaprove- please enlighten me)
YEAR 19:-Kovu and Vitani (they're twins) are born of Zira, but the father is NOT Scar (end of story!). Who's the father? No-one knows for sure. It may be, that Zira was out of the Pride Lands at that time. This would explain why Scar feels lonely & tries to seduce Nala (almost 30 years younger
) in the musical. She runs off, and eventually meets the now-adult Simba
-Scar later chooses Kovu to be his heir. He HAD to do it while he was alive, Zira's words in the 2nd movie prove this. And enough of that 'Zira made it up' nonsense! Kovu was 'hand chosen', so he had to be alive when Scar was still around
YEAR 20:-Simba's great return (aged circa 20)
-Scar dies (aged almost 50, so we see, that the 'mighty son of Mufasa' actually barely defeated in combat an old lion who himself admits to be one of the weakest in the pride...)
-Simba 'marries' Nala (end of 'TLK')
-It is likely that about this time Zira was exiled along with the other Outlanders
-Not long afterwards Kopa is born (YES, he's a canon character!)
YEAR 21:-Kiara is born ('TLK2:SP' begins)
YEAR 24:-Kopa dies at the age of 4 (now let me explain why I think this is what happened. The dissapearance of this character is a big hole in the story, but there are facts that may prove this. Kiara is called a future queen- if there was to be a king [Kopa], she would have only stayed a princess. Furthermore, Simba is so sickly overprotective, that it must come from somewhere. He just remembers how he had lost a son, tho he doesn't mention it. I'm with those, who believe that Zira killed Kopa.
-This may also be the moment, when Zira was exiled. Some think that it was because Simba found out she killed Kopa. I'm not sure about that. In my opinion, the exile took place just after Scar's death. Later Zira had her vengence on Kopa, but Simba can't know that for sure, or else in the second film he wouldn't just be suspicious. He would be like 'I will disembowel you, b**ch'
YEAR 25-This is the scene after Kiara's presentation. She is now 4, her father is 25, Nuka's 17, Kovu and Vitani- 6. That would pretty much be like in the film, amaright? There we can't see exacly that Kovu's older than Kiara. In my version he's only about 2 years older, so I guess that would be correct.
YEAR 40-Ending scenes of 'TLK2:SP'. Nuka and Zira die (he's 32, maybe few years younger, she's probably far above 50)
-The pride is rejoined
-Kovu and Kiara become mates (he's 20, she's 19)
-Simba's about 40 at that moment
Ok, that's my version of the timeline. Any problems? Go ahead and write, I dare ya!
Personally, I'm also dreaming of a sequel- Simba goes to the stars, Kovu as the queen's mate becomes king (the kingdom of nature ain't Great Britain, obviously). Everyone's satisfied that way- the 'good' part of the family (Mufasa says: "good work, Kiara! You've done even a better job than my son") and the 'bad' (imagine Scar and Zira way up in heaven in tears as they say: "We told ya one day he will be a king!")
Good thought, though. It was very interesting to read, and I enjoyed it.
kovu and kiara having a son ? would'nt work out , because in the lion king's past , all of the king's had sons , kiara and kovu , in my world have a daughter named , bouncey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
