It would help if you provided some sort of reference or link, so that those of us who have no clue what the heck you're talking about could respond in some manner.

I've never heard of this...whatever it is. So I cannot believe or disbelieve in something I've never even heard of.

I should like to see some reference to this.

EDIT:

Because I was too impatient to wait for you to respond to this, I did a little of my own research. And I've come to the only conclusion an intelligent, rational person can come to (as supported by the references below): any mythological construct, fabricated in very recent years by someone on the internet, is patently-ridiculous. And since the internet can spread a thing like this faster than the proverbial wildfire, any number of people can get in "on the fun" and make all kinds of outlandish claims just to get attention or to engage in "mob rules" thinking (go with the crowd). The point? It's a load of horse puckey. It's not even a legitimate mythological construct of the distant past from any culture. It's an internet creation. And obviously not even a very popular one if it's not something that instantly springs to mind once the name comes up in a forum topic (to wit: I'm on the internet a lot, and I've never heard of this until stumbling across this topic...because I do actually spend the greater balance of my free time outside in the real world rather than lurking around vague or disturbing internet forums like "Something Awful" or wrapped up in video games).

Cryptozoology is for crackpots...keep that in mind.

----------

I found these references on the internet, which debunk the entire notion:

If you check up on RPH's site you will find the origin of slenderman. Prepare yourself for dissapointment.

Real Paranormal Hunters.

This guy's statement on this webpage ended unfinished. Perhaps he simply forgot to add the full stop (period). Perhaps he can't edit his own material worth a dang. His other material on his site makes me believe he's a bit of a cornball, especially buying into this "tulpa" nonsense. But whatever...

"Any sightings before the entry in Something Awful has to be fake, as the concept of Slenderman was invented in that thread. However, although many people have said since he appeared in a competition he must be fake, I (C-Man121) do not believe this to be true. Although it is highly unlikely the Slenderman is real, it is possibly he came about due to the Tulpa Effect. If the Tulpa Effect is possible, then in theory"

Haha, no. xD
Like JC's post says, the Slender Man was made up by people on SomethingAwful. It's just like made up monsters in a TV show or movie.

It's a good prank piece now, hang up a suit in the dark and use some black paper to make the arms really long, a white balloon for the head - instant scare prank for anyone coming in late. =P

It's just another stupid internet fad that everyone is going to forget about once something else on the internet becomes the next big fad. If people want to be scared so badly, go watch a slasher flick or one of those pop up videos or something. Because that's all that this stupid Slender Man game is.

And to be honest, who the heck is going to believe in the Slender Man anyway? He's just a made up game character that was created by some dudes at some company that no one has heard of. If people think that he's real just from some lame scare tactic game, then they need to get out more.

Slender Man is quite the recipe for scaring people. xD He's pretty creepy in general.
I do find the game to be pretty creepy and fun at the same time too. I'd post links of play throughs of the game (which the reactions are hilarious) but I'm currently replying on my iPhone while away from home.

As for believing in Slender Man, nah. He's just something creepy that can make you paranoid in the middle of the night after watching something about him. Kind of like Samara from The Ring or the Grudge. (Not sure if there's an actual name for that character.)
