Hm... Tibbeh, you know that taxidermits take or buy their animals already dead? Like from roadkills, population controls etc. No one is killing those animals for fun just toget them stuffed...

Laws are not global, its not the same everywhere. Just because its like that in Poland doesn't mean its like that in America. Europe and America are two very very different continents.

Naw. You need to have license to be a taxidermist in Poland. At least this is what I understood from those horrible-written laws. I can see that you are from Sweden, so...
The taxidermist I know from deviantart are getting their animals from roadkills (they found by themselves or by their friends), buy them from hunters or old furs from second hand.
It's just funny that people say taxidermists are cruel. They are not people who kill animals for fun. They just make use from their dead bodies. If the animal is already dead, then why waste it?

 Just because YOU don't know taxidermists that kill 'their own' animals doesn't mean there are not some out there.

This works backwards. Just because some do, it doesn't mean all of them are like that.

And I never said all of them did it. There are some 'decent' people out there that do those things without killing the animal for only its fur (yes, I DO know some people like that).

No matter how you want to sugar coat it or downplay it, you're still ending a creature's life without any reason for it other than to look good in its skin. I understand using fur leftover from something else, like hunting for food, but I don't think it's anything other than cruel to raise a being in a miserable enviroment just to be killed off. It's unthinkable to do anything similar to humans, so why is it okay to do it to raccoons or minks or foxes? Nah. Honestly, things like fur coats are not worth another creature's existence to be ended to me made, even if it is art. If they don't suffer in their death, it's one thing, but they're still dying, and not for the benefit of the world or their species. As for taxidermy, I think it's totally fine as long as you aren't killing the animals just to be stuffed.
