- Faye! <3 Thanks much! Sorry it took me a bit to make my presence known, but I shall give it my best 8] - - Name: Thistle. - Gender: Stallion. - Age: 5 and still debating his feelings about relationships... - Breed: Spanish Mustang. - Mate: none ...but open. - Foals: none. - Personality: There's more to his personality, but it'll unfold better in the RP; He has a sense of wit and humor, and tries to use it to his advantage without really noticing around someone he really likes. Good sense of what's right and fairness. Not really shy, and proves it by speaking up more in an awkward situation. Always on the alert, he can be skittish, but hides it well disguised as concern. He doesn't hate the two-legged, he comes from a very wild area where they where never seen before. That is until he was taken, now all he wants is his freedom back. Although seeming cowardly, he'd throw himself in harms way to protect his herd [family], however he's very common sensible and won't do anything reckless. - Appearance: -Grulla. Has 4 scars across the left side of his neck [under mane] from a bear attack.- Better view of the mane and tail, and he has a dorsal stripe running down his back. color=#004000

An appaloosa mare was tethered to the side of the car, away from all of the other feral horses. Her dark, blueish black coat was covered by a purple blanket that had been tied over her. And though it couldn't be seen, her rump was mottled, covered in a big splash of white and the same black spots as on the rest of her coat speckling it, like dirt on snow. She had two socks of white on her right rear leg and left foreleg, and a white star on her forehead, which resembled more of a rounded arrowhead than the marking's namesake. The dark roots of her mane and tail faded to white as they ran down the length of her body, untrimmed but neat despite the obvious fact that she was a domestic horse. Her hooves, two of which were striped, rested against the floor boards of the train car they were all riding in, though she hardly felt its movements for her blue eyes were closed in slumber.
In her sleep, her tail twitched anxiously and she snorted, as though she were angry. But of course, the unconscious horse did have reason to be upset. She was having a dream that occurred to her regularly; it never brought her rest on the nights it appeared.
She was running through a field of tall grass toward home, her mother, and Jesse. He was standing there, grinning at her like humans do, and stretching out his hand to greet her. But suddenly, out of the shadows of the trees, a wild bay stallion ran at him. She whinnied loudly at Jesse, but he didn't seem to hear her - he just kept grinning. The stallion was on him in an instant; he didn't realize the horse had even been there until it was too late. His hooves flashed through the air, striking the human in successive blows.
Then she was on the stallion, biting at him and kicking him with her own hooves. She managed to drive him off, but when she looked down, she saw Jesse laying there broken. She leaned, placing her nose to his face, eyes closing in despair. He reached a hand up and stroked her face.
"Wey..." he said weakly. And then he was gone.
Weyekin awoke sharply, her body drenched in a cold sweat. She snorted in surprise at seeing the walls of the car and the bodies of the other horses, then calmed. She was safe, and so was Jesse. He would come for her again to take her out of this car when they got where they were going, like he always did. What she wouldn't have given for that time to have been then so that she could press her nose to his shirt and nicker at him.

He stared. Hard. Jungle green rimmed irises where locked onto one spot in the cargo train, Rannoch, hadn't spoke a word since he had been dragged from his herd. Taking a better look at him, the male had a unique bucksking pattern, like his grandfather before. A long untamed mane and tail that hung almost to the floor. His shoulders were built with heavy muscle, he was just a large male overall. Rannoch's thick chest heaved with his steady breathing, causing a vapor to appear around his nostrils as he exhaled in the cold atmosphere. His brightly colored eyes, narrowed as they viewed the world outside cracks in the walls of the cargo train, the black sky was dotted with hot luminescent stars. Was it a day? Had it been an entire day that they're were kept inside this wooden box on wheels?
A heavy sigh escaped his flared nostrils, as negative thoughts from the back of his mind creeped up his spine. The two legged had taken them, one after the other. Rannoch sighed heavily, another vapor cloud formed. He had failed them... the two legged had ruthlessly shot the ones who they thought wouldn't 'make it'. Finally lifting his neck, the chain around it jangled loudly, he took the time to note every horse that made it. A snort had caused his ears to jut forward as he turned to spot Weyekin, a domestic mare. Rannoch blinked for a moment before opening his mouth, "Are you alright?" He asked, quite concerned. Rannoch's natural curiosity took over, She wasn't ion his herd but he didn't want any horse to fall weak under the two legged. He was quite sure the mare was alright, but it didn't hurt to ask. As the stallion awaited her response, the trains shook and the screeching of chain wheels. All the sounds around him, seem to hit him all at once. The sounds of horses in other cars crying, pleading, and he swore he had once heard a stallion praying.
The train shook, and light flurries of snow seeped in through the broken flanks of the walls surrounding the car. This would be a long and unknown ride that the horse would never forget. The chains around the stallions neck hung loosely, and he was able to move about, but not to far. Rannoch found himself turning to face the Weyekin, he looked at her. She didn't appear to be injured, but he would make sure by taking a good observation. Though he couldn't say the same for himself. The lead stallion's body had many scraped and cuts, from the fight he had trying to protect his herd. Every cold gust of wind that entered the cargo train burned his wounds.

Kayahi's brown eyes were muddled, clouded with sleep. Somehow, she had managed not to wake from the cries of the other horses; it was Rannoch's chain that had woken her, the heavy links rattling against each other noisily. She shook her head in an effort to wake herself up; the subtle rocking motion of the train seemed to have a soothing effect.
Sudden hunger gnawed at her belly, and she realized she hadn't eaten since being loaded on to the train. She bent down, gathering what hay she could, and ravenously swallowing it. Refreshed, she looked up again, her gaze returning to Rannoch.
She heard his question ring through the frigid air, "Weyekin. Are you alright?" She flicked her ears in what could've been amusement. Rannoch was the one who had gained many cuts and bruises from defending the herd...in vain. Someone should be asking him if he felt alright. She remained silent though. She could waste her breath on more useful things than unnecessary words.
Kayahi nickered softly as the train jolted a litte; something must've been on the track...a large clump of ice most likely. Not enough to derail the massive thing, but enough to disturb it's normal rhythm. Rannoch's chains rattled again from the unexpected movement, and she silently thanked the fact that there wasn't metal encircling her. Yes, she was tethered to the cart - but it was by a sturdy rope.

Vinata watched Nick as he slept. Her poor young colt had been tierd out by how much panic was in the air. She worried immensly about him, he had watched his herd be pulled away, then experienced the same terrifying experience. She wasnt sure about what to do though, and that scared her most.
She looked over at Rannoch, then at Weyekin, then at the rest of the horses in the train car. She felt sorry for them, but not for herself. Nick neighed a little in his sleep, but was silent after. She heard Weyekin snort in a sleep drenched panick. She heard the voices of her herd. They sounded distant, even though they were close.

I'll edit my first post, but for future reference, he has a dorsal stripe running down his back [can't see the ref]. ...fixed the bio a little too cause after reading it it sounded like I was half dead and not thinking. Just fixed some redundancy issues in it.

The swaying of the car had started to loose its nauseating power over Thistle, as he had coped with it and stood still. He didn't dare want to move, and the chain wasn't helping for he wasn't used to those either. He tried biting it once, but it was hard and made his mouth feel funny and uncomfortable, not to mention it was colder and harder than ice or stone. He wanted to get off this confining box full of strange equines, but it was plain to see that that wasn't going to happen. Or at least not yet. The ride was long and didn't seem to end, and he almost considered a few times that they were headed for their death. 'Way to think optimistically...' he muttered in his head.
He had tried eating or sleeping, but he was too restless. He thought about what happened to the other horses... he watched some of them die, and one of them from something as non-sensible as an old healed battle wound. He was glad his scars were covered. Or he would probably be with the lost ones... The unpleasant thoughts starting to get to him, he shook his head, his white layered black mane hitting the sides of his gray neck as he tried to clear his mind. He shuffled a hoof and looked around, appearing just casually curious. The other horses seemed as upset as he felt. Why shouldn't they? They were also ripped from their homes and families. Thistle wasn't a part of theirs though, he was from a separate herd, and new none of these horses. Yet they were concerned about each other. 'At least I'm not trapped with inconsiderate jerks. ...at least as far as I know.'
His attention was grabbed by a skittish looking cremello. Whiter than a blanket of snow in winter, and eyes that matched the season's frozen clear ice pools. If he didn't know better, he'd say after just a glance she gave him butterflies. He wanted to say something to her, but her ears so flat against her head they looked almost looked nonexistent told him that she was quite upset. More reason to talk to her? Or cause for caution and let her be? He decided to nicker a hello to her, and then let her make the next move... Moving slowly closer so as not to make the chains rattle to much, he quietly spoke, "Hey there, you doin' okay?"

wow, I missed quite a bit and you all write so much. I'm sorry if I don't write enough for your standards but I'll try.
The large black stallion was cornered off into a small area of the train cart, hidden away from strange and prying eyes behind a wall of wood. His head weighed down by large heavy chains and padlocks, having the feeling he wasn't trusted as well as the other horses nearby in the same cart, dark chocolate eyes were exposed to the dim lights as a cold breeze of ice and snow came hitting him in the face. Where he had come from before he had never experienced this sort of weathed, with a small shivver he let out a long and harsh snort, his neck arched slightly in an attempt to raise his head as much as he could, his body ached from standing in this un-natural and rather uncomfortable position he was made to stay in. An ear flickered to the side at the sound of voices close by, the deepness of one suggested to him that there was another stallion very close to himself, clenching his teeth slightly, as another cold breeze came through the gaps of the crudely made cart, the stallion tried to move his head away from the hole directly infront of him, without realising how small the pen he was standing in actually was, his large leg smacked against the soild wooden wall, causing him to wince sightly. After the slight incident his anger began to boil up inside, tossing his head around hard and vigerously the chains rattled loudly, throwing his weight up into the air, the black stallion landed back down onto the floor boards with large thud.

Anyone could say that the pale mare was the most skittish one. Her haunches had around rammed into the wooden walls and another mare's rump more then three times so far in this trip. it wasn't the movement that made her sick, it was being so close to all these other horses that she didn't know. Small grunts and snorts expelled from her velveteen as her ears flicked forward and then back against her similar colored mane. Pale, cold blue eyes seemed to narrow in disgust, being forced in this group. The mare didn't know any of them, and they didn't know her. She belonged to another herd, but this would never be the same and she was fully aware of it. he hay around her hooves were crushed and dirtied from her constant side stepping, her neck sore from her movements that made it tug her back into place.
As the cold draft fled between the cabin the mare thrust-ed her head against the boards angrily. She.. no they all were wild horses, they shouldn't be confined. Slowly, her pale glass eyes looked down to the chain around her neck, made of metal, which would have to rust one day. Slowly she paced herself back, rounding about her rear again, this pushing the pale dun mare over before throwing her neck back with her force. A loud neigh spilled forth as the links were flexed past breaking point but they didn't break just yet. Thick hooves clattered on the wooden flooring as she snorted bitterly, feeling a his along her barrel. Looking back it was the same pale dun mare besides her that was growing tired of the younger mare's antic. Cross and bitter Barbwire lashed out with a well flexed back hoof, hitting the mare on her left gaskin, making a cut and it soon bled.
The mare gave Barbwire a nasty snort but turned away, moving aside and leaving the cremello alone. Huffing Barb pinned her ears and stayed put in the original sideways halt, looking down at the hay as if it were source of importance and dealt a lot of meaning. The others where restless just like her, one stallion was comforting a mare, perhaps one from his own herd. Another was throwing half a fit nearby up ahead to the northern corner. Slowly, she allowed her ears to flick forward at a sound. "Hey there, you doin' okay?" Her nares slowly softened as she craned her neck over to try and get a look at him in this darkness. First time a stallion wasn't snapping at her so she was a bit carious.
"No, I don't belong here..." Barbwire said halfheartedly and looked to the other horses. None of then did in all honesty. She glanced back to him, grinding her teeth softly. "And you?"

Weyekin was startled by a voice, and her ears twitched to face Rannoch before her eyes did. Ice blue orbs glanced over to him curiously and she wondered why he was asking about her. Didn't he remember her with a rider on her back? But then thinking back, she didn't remember seeing him among the horses she and Jesse had herded into the temporary fences leading up to the train cars. He must have been caught by one of the other humans. She took in the buckskin's coat, covered in scratches and lacerations from the obvious fight he'd given to stay free. It made her feel bad for the whole ordeal on a level - was it really right to take away someone's freedom like this?
She hesitated at first, trying to decide whether to reply or not. "Bad dream," she said quickly, nervous about even talking to the stallion.
He seemed nice enough, and that was probably what bothered her the most, especially after that dream. She leaned away from his direction, a little closer to the wall of the car despite the cold air streaming through it. The other horses had started waking up now and she glanced a little nervously at them. There were several mares, one who'd kicked another nearby her and was now being comforted by a stallion tethered closely to her. One of them had a foal next to her, and still another had glanced at Rannoch when he'd spoken. The last horse was a black stallion, who looked formidable indeed.
The sound of a door sliding open, then closed caught her attention and she quickly turned to see what it was. A dark haired man with a blanket draped around him was striding over to her and the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile. Jesse sighed tiredly and walked over to her, placing a hand on her neck and patting her gently.
"Hey, girl. Couldn't sleep. I guess you couldn't either," he said gently. She nickered in reply to him and he smiled. "Unless something goes wrong, we should be there in a few more hours, then we'll stretch your legs a bit, okay?" Wey neighed at him in a displeased way and tossed her head. "I'm sorry, I can't do anything about it. But you be good."
With that, he scratched her neck again and then left the way he'd come through the door between the cars. Weyekin looked longingly after him, even after the door had closed and she couldn't see him sitting back in his seat in the much warmer car adjacent to them. She wished she could have followed him.

"Bad dream" She had said. Rannoch gave her a swift nod before turning his body, bumping into a few mares during the process. Now dull, jungle green eyes had spotted an Appaloosa a few horses away. Her quickly determined the mare to be Kayahi, an asset to his own herd. From a distance, she seemed alright. Rannoch walked slowly until he was as far as his chains could have reached. "Kayahi, is everything alright?" He was concerned for her safety as well. His eyes darted over to Vinata and Nick, more members of his herd. "Nick! Vinta!" He called out. His eyes seemed to brighten at that moment. The anxiety that was building in his throat like wild fire was settling down, he had spotted most of his herd, and they all seemed relativity safe. Rannoch had already began to tug harder at his chains, but the sudden stop of the train had almost caused him to loose his balance. The cries within each car grew louder, as the two legged had begun to rip each car door open. The loud sounds had caused a few horse to spook, the chaos was growing. Before long, a husky man had already began to pull Rannoch from the car. He whined and had already stood up on his hind legs, and thrashed his front legs at the human. But the man had already called two more to drag him from the car.
In a short distanced walk, Rannoch peered up at a stream of smoke that was rising from the strange camp. He turned and tried to force himself back towards the car, he wanted to protect his herd. It was no use, with the multiple chains around his neck, he was at the mercy of the two legged.
