Hey guys! Just thought I'd show you how i render, since I enjoy rendering so much ;3 So, here we go!

-Notes-
To get your image & layer box to show up, his ctrl + L, and it should pop up :)
GIMP is a wonderful virus-free program, that it itself is also free! You can pixelize things if you wish to edit it on MS Paint also, just by using the pencil tool ;D

***You need GIMP to render like Egg!!***

Step one: Find your picture!
I chose this one, just randomly ya' know? I doesnt matter what one you pick^^

Image
And then crop it however you wish.

Step two: Open up GIMP and paste in your picture.

Image

Step three: Make two new layers [for outlining and coloring]

Image
(To create a layer just click the 'layer' button and select new layers, or click on the small paper icon on your Layers box.

Step four: On the top layer, outline your picture. [the very top layer should be called 'New Layer #1']

Image
**I edit my pictures a bit, so if you do too, and there is part of the original image sticking out of the black lines, we'll fix that later**

Step five: Erase the pasted layer

Image

Step six: Find your character(s), and get the colors

Image
Once you have your colors, just undo the paste again ;D

Step seven: Color Your picture [Be sure to color it on the 2nd layer, or middle one]

Image
As you can see, i picked Topher :3 *Note, the paintbucket tool isnt helpful o.o

Step eight: Shading
Time to make another layer! onyour new layer, color in the spaces you would like to shade with black :D Next, click 'filters', then select 'blur' then Gaussian blur, then decide how much blur you want your shading to have :3

Image

Step nine: Opacity of shading
Make the shading lighter

Image
(You can erase the stray marks outside the black lines if you'd like)

Step ten: Add in your background
This one can get confusing^^ First, make sure you have your original picture that you picked out in step one. Okay, so to add in your background you get your old picture, and select the bottom layer. Then, you paste your picture (it should become the top layer), then right click on the floating pasted layer, and select 'create layer from visible' and what it should do is make a whole new layer with your render and the background! from there, you can just delete all of the layers under the 'visible' layer, making the visible layer the only one left. And there you have your background :3

FINISHED PRODUCT:
I added my watermark ;3

Comment if you have any questions! :D I'd also love to see what you've done with it?!
