You think I'm being naive Only because so many people are about dog breeds and animals in general. They don't know how to care for a breed or animals' specific characteristics, and end up doing more harm than good. In the end, it can cause many different and possibly dangerous issues. And when those things happen, it's always the animal that suffers. But back on topic, I have two dogs. One is a Yorkshire Terrier named Dana, though I think she's actually a Yorkie-poo. http://ryuu-no-aijin.deviantart.com/gal ... 1#/d1bvzwwAnd Gypsy, our newer dog (we've had her about a year now, adopted). She's a Wheaten Terrier mix. With what, we don't know though. She's such a cutie. http://ryuu-no-aijin.deviantart.com/gallery/29664064

It was a black cocker spaniel. I only ever took one pic of her. Was a long time ago and I sucked with cameras (be it how I used it or if I even used it at all). NOT a good experience for my dad... now he won't let a dog even step paw in our house... I plan to own one of my own someday though. With my own place... But anyway, if I ever find that pic and can scan it or something I'll certainly share. For now, the closest I have to a dog are the St. Bernards down the road that I dogsit on occasion. Holly and Ginger. Two of the sweetest gentle giants I ever known. <3 Here's Ginger anyway. Bad pic, but they don't stay still for long! xD http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww27 ... 354026.jpg

I own both of his parents, who are also wolfdogs. All 3 have yellow eyes.

Thank you very much!
Tsume (the father) is about 37" tall and weighs around 120 pounds right now (he weighs more in the winter). He's got more of a Malamute build.
Sitka (the mother) is roughly 35" tall and weighs around 90 pounds. She's got a very wolfy build and has very wolf-like behavior.
Phantom (pictured in my previous post) has his mother's body type (maybe a bit thicker) and is around 36" tall right now, and about 110 lbs.
All of them are taller then my mini horses!

Well he's not QUITE as impressive as those gorgeous wolfdogs, but here's a last-week picture of my Sibe Mishka, who is now 8 months old! Yeah, he has the derpiest smile in the world. xD And here's a few pictures of him and his good pal Reiko, who is only a couple of months older. They have a blast together - chasing each other and wrestling all over the place. It's hilarious and great fun watching them play. xD Mishka sitting up, Reiko lying down. The only times his owner Grace managed to get some decent pictures is when they were relaxing. xD But the rests never lasted long. All of these were taken on the same day. Husky play dates are great fun, we're planning on doing them more often. xD

Gorgeous huskies and German Shepherd! I just love the breeds with the pricked ears and long fur <3 Thanks for the comments on Phantom, everyone! I also added a new photo of Sitka and Tsume, my other 2 wolfdogs.

Woah, pretty wolfdogs!
I've decided that when I get older, have my own home, the space, etc. I will do some research on low-content wolfdogs. But that will be in about 10 years or so...

Wolfox, start your research now, so in ten years when you get your own place with enough space, you'll be one step ahead and already now quite a bit on wolfdogs!
In the topic 'wolf/dog hybrid...they're totally awesome' just below this topic, I have posted several links on the last page to very resourceful wolfdog sites.
I had a tough time finding them, too. It's so difficult to find a site with anything nice to say about wolfdogs because so many people are misled by bad/false stories spread by people who have never owned a wolfdog or who were ill-prepared and didn't know how to raise it properly.
So check those links out when you get the chance!

Sure will. I'll probably never actually get to keep one, but it would be nice to have all that research done just in case...
First, before all of that, I would start handling more higher-energy dogs, because from what background knowledge I do have, they should be VERY active.

Being able to own a wolfdog is not a very farfetched plan. If you browse a site like Hoobly (a free ad website) K-9 Stud, or even your local craigslist, you'll find that low-content wolfdogs are very easy to come by for a very reasonable rehoming fee (sometimes you can even get them for free). Low-content wolfdogs pretty much look and act no different from a normal dog. Definitely start working with a husky, malamute or German Shepherd. They're the closest in looks and personality to [low-content] wolfdogs and working with any of those breeds will be a great start So I don't get in trouble for talking about off-topic things, here's a pic of my [mom's] black German Shepherd, Kenai. Note the difference in an American Shepherd like Kenai and the European shepherds like the lovely one UK has!
