A bit of clarification for everyone.


What is the Scavenger Hunt?
The hunt is a new site-wide game for everyone to participate in.
A list of challenges will be posted and in teams you complete the challenges which are each worth a set amount of points.
Complete the challenges, count up the points and try to get as many as possible. The team with the most points when the hunts ends - wins!



What do we do then?
What will happen is I will announce a few days before when the hunt will start, when that announcement is posted you may make and join teams to complete the tasks together to try and get as many points as possible.



Ok, so how will we make teams?
When the time is right all you need to do is make a topic titled with your team name. It can be anything (within the rules), like "Team Pineapple" - anything at all. Then others can post asking to join the team!
There will be a limit on how many people can be in one team, and that limit is 6.
So only the team leader & 5 others can be on a team. I know, I know, you may have more than 6 friends but that's not the point of the hunt - the point is to all join together and have fun!

There are no real rules for teams (aside from the normal rules of course) except that you can't say no to people joining your team just because you don't like them or you've reserved a spot for your friend; remember, we're supposed to be joining together, talking to new people and having fun!

People can of course be kicked off teams if they're not joining in doing the challenges - if you can't do the challenges then don't join a team!



Ok, we get that, so what are the challenges?
Hold your horses! We're not starting yet!
I can't tell you the challenges just yet, otherwise people could start working on them before they're supposed to!
What I can do is tell you what type of challenges there will be, we're aiming for a widely varied choice of challenges so that people of all skills can join in!
The types of challenges will be;
- Drawing (digital or traditional)
- Rendering
- Word searching
- Answering questions
- Sculpting (Yes, with clay or something like it.)
- Painting (Yes, with actual paints.)
- Photography
- Photo-manipulation



Does that mean only people who are good at those things can join in? :c
Not at all! Like I said; people of all skill levels!
We're not working on how well it's drawn/rendered/painted etc. just the fact it's done.
So, for example, if a challenge was "Draw a picture of Balto" then as long as it's a drawing and of Balto it counts!
It doesn't need to be amazing, heck it can even be a tiny step up from stick-drawings if you like, as long as we can tell what it is; it counts!

Sculpting O__o Oh hoho.

Now this is my sort of challenge game cx Would the sculpting be of official film characters?

One problem I'm seeing with teams is there might be some members who will want to join more than one team.. Would this be acceptable?

No.
You join one team and one team only. Otherwise it's just not fair.

^ Is there a possibility of adding a writing challenge to this? It doesn't have to be anything big, maybe a short story or something like that. That would be a challenge I would definitely be interested in.

Hmm, I like how iwolf231 thinks. A writing challenge would indeed be a good challenge for those who love to write.

When exactly will this start? :3

I'm aiming for it to be near Christmas now; I'm gonna power through and finish all the challenges so the hunt can start.

With it being near Christmas I've yet to think of a suitable end date, whether it should be in December; when a lot of people may be away which is bad OR in January.

Same problem I have myself. XD Christmas is always a busy time.

I think I'll make a poll for it and hear some suggestions from people. c:
