I'm going with The Lion King 1 1/2. Sure it has better animation and music than the second movie plus the humor wasn't as forced as the first movie's but it's writing is ******.

The story about Timon's family and the story about the first movie from Timon + Pumbaa's pov of the first movie barely connect and feel like 2 30 minute movies were accidentally put on the same reel.

Ma and Uncle Max are only in the climax because the plot needed them to be there.

It has a naive message that you should your live with no worries 24/7.

It doesn't really make sense that the zebras would think the animals knocked out by Pumbaa's farts were bowing because it doesn't look like they're bowing!

It doesn't make sense for Timon + Pumbaa to have a home theater because they're african animals that live in wild that don't have any other human things! It would make sense in the TV show which was 100% humanized but in the movies 50% humanized and 50% animalized world it doesn't make sense.

The home theater scenes don't really add to the plot and just seem to be there for filler.

Simba is more of a plot device than an actual character.

Were supposed to believe "I just can't wait to be king" happened the day after The Circle of Life montage (the writers took the sequence of events too literally)

If you pay attention to when they are rewinding the scenes in the beginning, it's obvious that the scenes aren't in order.

Timon acts like he doesn't know Rafiki later in the movie even though we find out he knew him in the beginning.

Ma lets go of Timon too easily.

The writers forgot that Pumbaa got stuck in a log which makes Simba fighting Nala entirely pointless.

What do you think?

I personally hate TLK2/TLK1/2.
TLK2= Weak characters weak plot, ruining the orignal's legacy.
TLK1/2 Ruining the orignal's legacy.
-SPOILERS, don't want to find out? Don't read-

TLK2= We all know that Aleu, Balto's lame daughter is a clone of Kirara, but she is spoiled, and navie. She is mad at Simba for wanting to keep his daughter alive, and is that a bad thing? And she falls in love with Kovu, who's whole point in life was to kill her father. Now seriously, how stupid can you get? :/ The writers of this movie didn't explain things enough, and they killed off a character(s) that could turn the whole movie around. (Nuka, Zira)
The backgrounds weren't as amazing as the orignal's, and Simba changed too much between the two films, and there is also the confusion of Kopa, Simba's first son, and Kirara, the dimwitted movie hog.

My review from Keyframe=

-Spoilers, they be in here-
Many people will/or/won't agree with me, but This movie wasn't very good. It turned bad once you see Kiara, the female-addition. Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad they had a some-what strong female character for the lead, but Disney now is making them weak. (Example, Kiara)
Her character was little progressed and I would have prefered if they kept Kopa.

Timon and Pumba are still in the movie yes, but they don't show much, and seem to just be pests in here.

The songs weren't very good in my opinion, they just didn't song well, or have too much meaning.
Simba also changed very much, while many people will say; "Oh he just got older" well in the first movie, you see him still young(er?) and has the cub at the end of the first movie. Point there, now moving on.

Nala, the mother of Kiara, is now not much screentime. She's more like the background now. Sure, they /tried/ to show some "spice" from the first movie (Nala still pinning Simba down) but seriously, why get rid of Nala for Kiara?

Kovu as a cub was OK, but once he hits the teen age I just lost all love for this guy, once he doesn't want to kill Simba, and wants to save him, get the girl, I just wanted to turn the TV off.

Not worth buying in my opinion. Already sold my copy of TLKII: Simba's pride. ;)

TLk1/2= This was just a waste of money. Timon and Pumba were meant for comedy MINOR characters, not to have their own movie. >> I was suprised when Disney bothered to give them a TV show, but the gave them a movie? Sure, it was nice to see a teen simba (Though they didn't give me a lot of screen time) but they ruined the first movie. Waste of money, waste of time.

Haven't done a review for TLK1/2 yet, and I won't post my review for TLK( Orignal) Since I don't hate it. xD

Lion's don't talk.

Same goes for Nala in Simba's Pride.

No, you took the transition too literally. Like in the first film, Simba went from his presentation to being a few months old, no one seemed to be confused by that.

When Timon and Pumbaa find that small area beyond Pride Rock and make it their home, them falling asleep and then being awoken by the animal choir in "I Just can't wait to be King" suggests that Timon and Pumbaa had been living in that home for a few months. Were they sleeping that whole time? No, but they didn't want to have to show them living there for what seemed like a while, so they chose them falling asleep and then waking up as a transition through time.

She saw that he was miserable living there int he colony...I don't see whats wrong in allowing your child to find a better life for themselves.

What point are you trying to make? They didn't even show the chase scene with Pumbaa and Nala because they assume everyones seen it from the first film, they just cut right to the part where Simba recognizes Nala.

I'd say my least favorite is Simba's Pride. Because The Lion King 1 1/2 at least made me smile.

I'm guessing you're saying we should forget all logic just because all animals talk: while I would normally agree with that the problem is that even though these animals talk they have lived in conditions similar to conditions animals actually live in-in other words they all have no clothes, don't live in houses, don't have technology, etc. Considering that they do live in an animal-like world (even though I am quite aware it's not entirely animal-like) it doesn't really make any sense for T + P to be able to own a home theater.

Doesn't make it right it just makes it one of the flaws of the 2nd film.

Yes but he's out of the log in this movie BEFORE he was out of the log in the original movie.

I'm not saying you should forget all logic. I just remembered an excerpt from the behind the scenes of 'Finding Nemo' when one animator said that it didn't make sense for fish to hold goggles with their fins and I remember that the other animator told him that "Fish don't talk."

I liked the fact that The first film had the animals live in the conditions than they would in the wild. In fact, I loved it, and it was a great challenge for the animators to make the characters as convincingly animal like as possible.

Maybe it doesn't make sense that Timon and Pumbaa have access to a home theatre, as well as many of the rest of the Disney characters (ref to end of film, when lots of different Disney characters that have no business being in a home theatre either step in.) But I don't let that spoil the movie for me.

I know it doesn't make it right. Did I say it made it right?

Come to think of it, you are right.

OK I should have been clear. I wasn't just saying these 2 things alone spoiled the movie. If these 2 things were in the movie but it was still a more enjoyable movie I would've found it to be a flawed film but not a bad film. It's more the amount of flaws that keep me from enjoying the film and there are many flaws in the movie IMHO.

1/2 The movie had no absolute point at all. There wasn't any need to go past a second movie.

I will agree with you there, there are quite a few flaws in the film.

But the scene that really made the film for me was the scene after Timon and Pumbaa rescued Simba. They could have taken that scene and made it into an animated short instead of making a whole film, because in my opinion, it was that scene that saved the film from being a total loss.
