Re: the previous comment (immediately above, on the previous page)...and stepping out of the "saying something to Balto" bit...
I'd actually like to clarify that I don't dislike Balto at all. Not one bit. Fictional or otherwise.
I now return you to the topic already in progress...

catwhohas14tails wrote: Hey Balto, why did you have such a dramatic change in character with absolutely zero character development in your movie? You were like all adventurous and playful at first, luring us in with your childish nature and disobedience, like a bunch of suckers. Then you become all emo for a good half hour, and then you're just a schmuckish hero type the rest of the time, when you're not getting your butt handed to you by a bear or a dog or ice or something. To Balto, I'd say, "Ignore your negative fans. They don't know how much it can jerk you into reality, being teased and misjudged, and seeing your best human friend slip into a life-threatening condition. You have different sides to you, and that makes you a very believable character." Seriousness aside though, I'd tell him that he shouldn't have let Universal pressure him into two mediocre sequels.

That's a tough question...What would I say to Balto? Hm... Might just have to make it up as I go along.
Hey Balto, just wanted to say I think you're very brave for finding that sled team and bringing back the medicine to save those sick children. I doubt that most dogs would be able to be as courageous as you; going out in a blizzard to find a team full of dogs that don't like you to take back medicine to a town that doesn't like you. Seems everyone was against you in the beginning, all because of your mixed blood. But don't worry, I'm not going to judge. In fact, I love wolves and I think it's pretty cool that you're half wolf.
That little fan moment aside, I'd like to move on to the more negative side of this. I have to say... It seemed that you only became friends with Rosy and wanted to save her because you were trying to win your way into Jenna's heart, not because you wanted to. Although many of Rosy's friends and family would appreciate what you did... Did you really do it because you wanted to? Or did you do it because you wanted Jenna? If the latter is the case, I'd say that's not too heroic at all. That's exactly something Steele would do. He wouldn't really be interested in saving the kid, he'd be interested in getting the glory and the girl, whom in this case is Jenna.
I'd like to end this by saying I think you were brave, reguardless of your reasons for saving those children, and remember that although things pretty much went downhill you'll still be Nome's hero and an idol to many.

If I can go off-topic for just a sec, ever so slightly, I'd like to point out that there's pretty strong, though certainly circumstantial, evidence that the Balto character knew and was befriended by Rosy before the romantic affiliation with Jenna was ever established. There was a friendly familiarity from the very get-go, in the first movie, that supports this. Just FYI.

Haven't watched the movie in a while, but I remember being under the impression that Balto only just met Rosy the day he layed eyes on Jenna. There is a strong chance, though, that perhaps I am wrong.

Just a suggestion... Yeah, that would be a good approach... But I don't wish to re-watch the movie, it's too childish for me now (Sure I draw artwork of the characters and write fanfiction, but I doubt I'll ever watch the movie again). I simply made a post based on memory, nothing wrong with that. Sorry if I seem a little rude. I don't mean to sound that way.

However, I don't know that the Balto movie is at all childish. I've seen tons of things that are more popular lately with your peers that can be definitely called "childish" than the Balto movies...by a TON (I know I'm gonna catch flak for this from the fan kiddies - most of whom AREN'T kiddies at all, but I really don't give a hoot, so...dare I say My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? Pokemon? The Land Before Time direct-to-video movie sequels? Pound Puppies? I could go on, really...but why? Those cover it pretty darned well from where I'm sitting. ROFL)

Hmm... what to say? I'd say that he did wonderful job, and that he's a hero! I'd just say he's awesome!

Funny you should mention that--I've always wondered if he didn't win Jenna only because he saved Rosy. Gives me an idea for a fanfic. Hmmm....

Balto, the act you did was very courageous. I dont think I could pull off anything even close to what you did. I dont think I couldve gotten the strength to pull that medicine all the way up the steep mountain like you did.
Balto, you are a example of someone with unsurpassed amounts of courage, thank you a lot.

I couldn't have said it better myself PS: if you see a white Beagle with a black spot on his back and tail and long black ears, tell him said hi! (It's Snoopy from "What A Nightmare, Charlie Brown") HAHAHAAHAHAH, oh- oh, My Head Hurts...
