First off, I don't want any problems to occur over opinions on which layout you like, and which one you dislike. If that is going to happen, I will request this topic to be locked.

Being said, my favorite layout on the site, that isn't mine to be fair, would be Brother Bear Source. I'm not much for the background on that site, but I like the overall color textures used (side menu).

My least favorite would be Anastasia Source. No offense to the creator, but the banner has far too much going on, and the text used on the side menus is hard to read. The background seems blotchy, and the title headers are just recolored default images; I personally find that to be kinda lazy, nor does it look good to me.

Your thoughts?

My favorite has to be Lady and the Tramp. It's VERY well-done, the colors are nice, and it's unique in a way that everyone can enjoy. If I were to choose another one, it would have to be Brother Bear Source and Lion King Source--both were done tremendously! Such bright colors, and they REALLY capture the spirit of their movies.

Agreed on Anastasia Source being my least-favorite. I understand it was that person's first time creating a Source, and tehy've done several since then on the French side. Even HE thinks it's bad, and wishes to re-do it someday.

I'd have to say my favorite is Brother Bear as well. The sidebars are very well done and the text matches beautifully with the movie's title font, the banner is gorgeous, and everything was really well done.

As for least favorite, I would have to say How to Train Your Dragon Source. While the banner was done well, in my opinion, the sidebars and background could use major work. The backgrounds are bad quality, the sidebar repeats a picture of Toothless when it is not supposed to even repeat a certain character with different screenshots (according to steet). The text is great for the banner but becomes squished on the sidebars, the background image is the same picture outline repeated over and over again, and lastly, most of the pictures in the sidebars are badly erased or are cut out in such a way that it looks sloppy. I don't mean to be harsh, but I am simply telling my honest opinion. Sorry to anyone who helped work on the graphics of the source.

I did some of the work on the site. I did the banner and some of the sidebars, but what happened there is that I lost the PSD to the menu bars, so I got fed up and refused to finish the job. So I had Skul find someone else to finish the job. However, I completely agree with you, the site needs a lot of fixing up.

Yep.. Agreed on Brother Bear Source as my favorite layout.
My least favorite is probably Oliver & Company Source. :> I was probably one of the only people that enjoyed the very first layout; the orange one.

My favourites are Brother Bear and Lady And The Tramp sources layouts.

My least faves would be Lion King because of the yellow text on yellow background in some sections and Anastasia because of messy banner and text.

Least favourite would be Anastasia Source... the colors kinda clash too much, some of the pictures in the banners being low resolution, etc
Oliver and Company Source is down there too but the colors seem to be a bit more coherent with some sort of color scheme
HTTYDSource could do with a makeover also.
101 Dalmations Source seems a bit drab but I suppose the movie colorings are a bit drab also.

Favourites would the Lady and the Tramp Source and ADGTHSource
Also TaleSpin Source does have a nice color scheme, you have to admit

My favorite would be Bambi Source. The colors are so light and pretty, and the sidebars with that kind of a grain texture are beautiful. And also TaleSpin source looks beautiful.
My least favorite would be Brother Bear Source and 101 Dalmatians Source. Okay, all the textures, text, etc. are nice, but all the colors kinda just blend in, it's boring to look at. It's just my opinion.

One of my favourites was Kelsey The Zombie's Balto Source layout. Everything was very clear and I liked those sleds instead of paws as buttons. They were much more fitting and original. Character images in sections were nicely rendered and cleared and all of them were bright, not like now we have bright image of Balto and Aleu image took from night screenshot.

My least favourites are Anastasia Source,and The Princess,and The Frog Source.

My favorites are all the other sources.

The banner is great (thought the word "Source" blends in with the background), I like the use of the green vegetation around the banner. The overall color scheme of the site is wonderful. (=

The background:

I'm not really liking the background of this site. The silhouettes of the characters seem randomly placed to me, and it makes the background look blotchy. And in my case it makes the background look empty, as I'm not seeing all of the background. This will vary depending on your screen size.

You can also clearly see a defined hard edge on the background where it repeats itself. This is probably because there was a gradient used, not the best idea for using a background that has to be repeated.

The header image
The header image is what you see at the top of a news post for instance.

Anyway, the image itself is nothing more then the default image. Proof: /images/s ... middle.png I'm sorry to say this, but that to me is just as equivalent to coloring a lineart. That is all that is being done here, just a change of the color.

My only concern here is the use of the images in the background. I think silhouettes should have been used here instead of lowering the opacity of an image. This makes the image a bit distracting when you can still see some details of the characters.

The menu bar

I'll start off with the divider images. I'm not sure if it's a texture, but these also look blotchy. The text used is a bit bland as well. I think a bolder text, or at least some effects, would make it look a bit better.

And considering there is green in the banner, I think a use of green on the divider images would even it out a bit more.

The background of the menu. It seems a bit too flat, and it's hard to see the lanterns. Nothing more to add to that.




overall, I feel that this layout is flat. It defiantly has room for improvement.

My favorite is Balto source, my least favorite is HTTYDS and 101S.
