I was just thinking. Who is Nuka's father? I've heard that from the directors of TLK2 that Vitani, Nuka and Kovu are not Scar's cubs. I get that. But, what I don't get is this. Why would Zira mate with another lion?

I mean, Scar probably knew about it. But, still why keep a cub that isn't yours? And, if Zira is so loyal to Scar, why would she cheat on him?

My theory is this...

Zira probably knew the lion she mated with, even if he was a rouge like I've heard he was. Why else would she sleep with some random lion? Scar probably wanted an heir badly and he couldn't have one biologically. So, he took in Zira's cubs as his own, despite them being from a different father. Zira was probably attracted to the lion, because he looked like Scar. But, that's my theory.

What do you guys think?

I thought Nuka was Scar's son.

scar is nuka's dad because he even says that he is scar's son, not kovu, so nuka is scar's son, and vitani's brother.

i think vitani and nuka are both scars children but kovus father is chumvi and mother is zira

I have always thought Nuka's father was Taka/Scar because he sort of resembles him.

I always assumed Scar as well, but when I think about it, why does Nuka refer to Scar by name instead of 'dad' if he was indeed his father? Nor was he really THAT conflicted when Kovu was chosen to follow in Scar's paw-prints (as Zira put it). If Nuka was really Scars son, one would think he'd put up a bit of a fight to be the one who takes over and not some random cub that was favored over him. But nope. We only get one line about Scar and the rest of his screen time is spent basically trying to impress his mother. Maybe he has more serious mommy issues than depicted in the movie, but the before mentioned issues seriously bug me now. I don't think Scar's his father anymore. No idea who is and don't really care, but there's my two cents.

Here is my theory

Nuka- Nuka was zira and scars cub. However as he became a cub he had a strange mane . So scar was looking for another cub.
Vitani- tama and Tojo. Zira killed Tojo leaving tama to look after Vitani alone. Tama was off guard. And zira took Vitani.
Kovu- kula x chumvi. Zira kills Tojo so kula abandons kovu making zira take him

It's was Confirmed in TLK 2 that Nuka and Vitani are Scar's Cubs.

No, Coolie, that was NEVER confirmed in the movie. We don't know if Scar even fathered cubs during his time as King of the Pridelands or not.

I am of the opinion that Nuka is Scar's son. Vitani could possibly be Scar's as well, but this would be mean that Kovu was not Zira's, and that she snatched him/adopted him from somewhere, so that they could be the same age as they appear to be in the film. OR, Vitani and Kovu both could be Zira's, by another male. Or she could have adopted them both. The possibilities are endless. But I DO think Nuka was Scar's. Thus why he wants so badly to be king and please his mother.

Well the Director said he left Zira's relationship to Scar obscured, so fans can think what they like. I like to think Scar is his father, a bit abusive when Zira was not around, but hey that's just my theory. :3 However for Vitani I believe both she and Kovu were from a different lioness, possibly a rouge.
