Okay, so just as the title asks: Why you you ship certain cannon characters together who aren't actually in a "relationship" with the character they are being shipped with?
For example I ship:
JennaxSteele: YES, I know this will never happen, but personally I think they had something in the past, before the whole Balto getting with Jenna thing. NO I do not have solid evidence to support this, but I like to do a thing called looking at context clues. Like for example: the scene where Jenna was with Balto in the boiler room, and Steele barges in, yes, that could have been her using her "female charm" to get herself and Balto out of a not so good situation, but personally I think she new how to push the "correct buttons" on Steele.
Yes I will admit, I like them because they would make gorgeous babies, but that is not all to a couple, and that isn't the sole reason. I like the idea of these two (at least in the past) having a relationship, and something causing them to split, and Jenna moving on for Balto, to me it would make for an interesting fanfiction, and a possible "rewrite" to the second/third movies.
AleuxYak: Okay, both of these have been done before but I still like them. This one I like because out of the the 5 wolves in Wolf Quest that were actually given a "purpose or rather more dialogue to say," I find Yak to be less annoying I guess you could say, plus I like the fact that he appears to be older than Aleu and he could offer her some guidance without it being to overly creepy for children/parents if say she was put with Nava who was old enough to be her grandfather.
Also, I know they would look awkward together now, but think about if someone redesigned them? And made the "pretty?" And since Aleu is leading the pack, out of Yak, Sumac, and Nuk, I personally would find Yak more "able" to aid her in leading the pack; Nuk thinks about his stomach too much to focus on real priorities, and Sumac is too....derpy to really make valuable decisions.
Please when you reply to this, I ask that you post "decent" reasons why you ship "couples." Not just "Oh they look good together" or "they make cute babies" or "Cat did it, so now I will"
