Freaky animals. I once read they were made from left overs after the rest of the animals were created... I had to draw lines for one the other day and got a random thought.

Do you think Simba had any resentment towards these creatures after his father's death? I know it wasn't really their fault Mufasa died,
but I wouldn't doubt him flinching at the memory of the tragedy after just seeing a wildebeest.

...and I don't remember seeing any in the second movie...

It would have only made sense if he did have a grudge, since they were the cause of his death. But I don't remember hearing about it, either.

There is not complaint that could've been changed, but why did the wilderbeast just kick the hyena?

I don't think so, because, though the wildebeest did end up killing Mufasa, it wasn't out of their intent. Scar had the hyenas startle the herd, and they were reacting to the situation like any other animal would've. They were frightened. Simba had more reason to hate Scar and the hyenas instead of the wildebeest because they were the ones who started the stampede. The wildebeest were just pawns for the plan and nothing more.

I doubt Simba has hate to wildebeest. Technically, they did not kill Mufasa. Shenzi, Ed and Banai frightened them causing them to rapidly stampede, Mufasa was pushed off the cliff by Scar, even if the wildebeest weren't there, Mufasa still would've been dead or severly injured.

Mm. I was more or less referring to if you guys think Simba gets like... horrible flashbacks from seeing them. But it is weird that I still don't notice many if any in the second movie.

I don't think there were any in the second film. Then again, the second film wasn't what it should have been.

Well Simba did have the nightmare about his father, and 'Scar' who was actually Kovu. So again I think Simba doesn't really blame the wildebeest for killing his father as much as he blames Scar for causing his father's death. Besides, having your uncle admit that he killed your father and blamed you for it would leave a much bigger physiological imprint on your life wouldn't you think?

That kinda adds up too the end of how their food supply is critically low.

^ Oh, yea... Towards the end of the first movie, Scar's lack of leader skills has the land starving. And I believe it was a wildebeest skull that washed away when Simba took over again.
Perhaps during his time as ruler, Scar wiped them out in that area...

It's not about the wildebeests being evil. It's about how Simba felt about them, considering his traumatic experience with them as a cub. How he would feel about them once he returned to the Pridelands, whether he would hate them for what happened to his father even though it was Scar would threw him from the rock face and down into the stampeding herd. Simba did see that, after all.
