Name: Big Red
Sex: Male
Age: He's currently an adult, but I'll draw him as any age
Breed: Redbone Coonhound
Personality: Big Red is a very charming dog who enjoys goofing off and joking around every now and then. Red has a sweet attitude and is practically a a giant teddy bear: Very people and dog friendly, loving and passionate, and a huge cuddlier. Big Red is a real gentleman, polite, and good-natured. He's not afraid to speak his mind, but won't do if he feels as if what's on his mind shouldn't be said, and Red always has a nice arsenal of witty comments to spit back if he ever gets into an argument.
Date of Birth and location: April 27 in Tennessee
Parents: Hercules and Willow
Siblings: N/A
History: Big Red was born and raised in Tennessee. As a young puppy, he already had a giant interest in hunting and would run after just about anything that moved. His father, Hercules, soon taught his son the basics of tracking down game and hunting.
Big Red caught on really quick and was excellent at tracking down game, but there was one thing that made him loose his good reputation almost as quickly as he'd gained it: Red wasn't the kind to kill other animals. Being a big sweetie and all, raking an animal's life pained the young dog and he became a laughing stock among the other hounds in his neighborhood.
At one year old, a new dog moved in next-door to Red. At this point in his life, the coonhound was seeking new friendships and immediately greeted the new guy...after apologizing for scaring him of course; the other's name was Cash and he and Red became close friends after that. Big Red taught Cash everything he knew about hunting (even though he wasn't too big on the sport himself) and in return, Cash helped Red find his singing voice. The redbone coonhound had never thought about singing, believing that it was just a human's thing, but he soon realized that he had more fun singing than he ever did hunting. After getting the hang of singing, Cash told Red that, when they grow up, they'd make a band and travel everywhere to sing of large crowds of people, and after that, the boys' big dream was to be famous.
Eight months later, Cash and his owner moved away, leaving Big Red on his own again, but his loneliness didn't last but another two years, and Red did manage to get a grip on his hunting skills and made his owner very proud of him. Not too long after that, the hound and his owner finally moved to another city.
After getting familiar with the town, Big Red came across a fair and, since he was very bored with wandering around the small town and the woods surrounding it, the dog made a beeline to the largest tent, but stopped when he heard singing coming from nearby. Curious, Red peered into the tent to see a group of five dogs singing together. Stepping inside to get a better look at them all, Big Red realized that one of the dogs was his old friend Cash. After a joyful reunion, Cash introduced his childhood friend to the rest of the gang, and Red immediately fell head over heels for the youngest female of the group: Dixie.
As the days past, Big Red kept visiting the singing strays everyday. He met two new youngsters named Tod, a red fox kit, and Copper, a bloodhound puppy, who were soon accepted among the Singin' Strays' group. Big Red accepted them both as members as well and found it fun to spend time with the younger members. Sometimes, when he wasn't too busy helping out at home or at the fair, Big Red would tell Copper and Tod stories of his life as a puppy to entertain them once all heck broke lose when Dixie left the group.
While she was gone, Red took this time to ask Dixie out on a date, but she told him he was cute, but not her type. Red didn't get mad like most guys would and told Dixie that he understood. He always thought that she and Cash might have a thing going on...
After Dixie came back, however and the gang got famous, Big Red turned down Cash's offer to officially join the group, but he never forgot about the idea his friend thought up all those years ago, being famous and everything; Red decided that if he were to be famous, he'd rather be remembered as a hunting dog than a singing one.

Dislikes: Cows (they stink), Chief and Amos Slade, when Cash starts complaining or when he and Dixie get into an argument, heights, ferris wheels, when Chief yells at Copper, getting annoyed and being ignored, fighting, killing other animals (sometimes)

Voice: John Patrick Lowrie
Relation to the The Fox and the Hound universe: He used to live next-door to Cash and was his childhood friend and is now very close to Cash and his band; he befriended Copper and Tod and visits their places sometimes to play and tell them stories
