It's really simple. The image at the back is the background layer. Add a new layer in GIMP or Photoshop, then paste an image of a balto character to render over. Then add another layer, make sure that one is transparent, go over the lines of the balto character. Fill in the colours of the fan made character. Then delete the Balto character layer, and there you have it. You should have your character with the first background layer you chose behind it. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
