It was struggling, but at least it made it : The Princess & The Frog has crossed the 100M$ gross in the USA! That's a relief, because this is a mental barrer for whoever like sales figures - and everyone knows how much the companies are driven by that, nowadays.

Is it a good result? There's no definite answer to that. It's a good one if you consider the recent Disney films, it's not if you consider the CGI films grosses and ticket price inflation.
We're also still unsure of how Disney is taking these figures : higher or below expectations? Will this be enough to ensure more 2D animated films like this? I think the answer is "yes", but that's only me. After all, Snow Queen (although not officially announced) is still very much a 2D project for now.
And don't forget that decision will also be based on the international box office (for which we don't have reliable figures for now, as it's not been released in many countries yet) and the DVD sales.
Speaking about international : the film has been released recently in France, and it's a big hit here!! It's ranked number 1 this week, BEFORE Avatar! In five days, it has already made almost as much as Alvin 2 which was released 2 months ago! Different (better) taste? Yes!
Oh yes, if you're wondering about that photo I posted above : there is a new show based on the film, coming up to Disneyland! So if you missed “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee”, then you may still enjoy the upcoming one : “Princess Tiana’s Mardi Gras Celebration”, beginning on February 5th.
