The nominees for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards have been announced. While there aren't many surprises, animated films certainly take up a good portion of nominated films.
The easiest film on the list to recognize is Toy Story 3, which has received a total of 5 Oscar nominations--tied for the second-most in animated history. The five it has been nominated for are: BEST PICTURE, BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY, BEST ANIMATED FEATURE, BEST ORIGINAL SONG ("We Belong Together"), and BEST SOUND EDITING.
Also on the list is How to Train Your Dragon, with 2 nominations: BEST ANIMATED FEATURE and BEST ORIGINAL FILM SCORE. Tangled and French film The Illusionist both appear on the list as well: Tangled for BEST ORIGINAL SONG ("I See the Light"), and The Illusionist for BEST ANIMATED FEATURE.
And let's not forget the animated short films: The nominees are Day & Night, The Gruffalo, Let's Pollute, The Lost Thing, and Madagascar: A Journal Diary.
The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday, February 27, beginning at 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST.

Considering the amazing quality of How To Train Your Dragon, Tangled
and Toy Story 3 - No. Alpha & Omega should not have been nominated.
xD It was a sub-par film anyway but especially so next to films like the above. I'll be hoping HTTYD wins at least something, that movie is just fantastic. |

com'on How To Train Your Dragon! you deserve best animated feature
though im positively sure Toy Story 3 will win though it does deserve
to. anyhow im rooting for HTTYD as Toy Story will most likely get
awards no matter what. But im with both movies all the way How To
Train Your Dragon and Toy Story FTW! :D |
