Disney Earns Oscars for Big Hero 6 and Feast

While DreamWorks has recently been scoring film awards left and right for How to Train Your Dragon 2, Disney was still given the recognition by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences when it won the two animation categories at the 87th Academy Awards.

Big Hero 6, the latest animated film by Walt Disney Animation Studios and helmed by directors Don Hall and Chris Williams, was chosen as the Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature. This marks the second time in a row that the studio has won the award, with the first one being Frozen.

Walt Disney Animation Studios was also met with another Oscar win for Best Animated Short Film, which was to Patrick Osborne’s Feast, an animated short shown before theatrical screenings of Big Hero 6.

song of the sea looked so cute and visually pretty! i'm glad httyd2 went home with some awards this year at least, it was so good. big hero 6 was also super good and i liked some of the messages in it, but it's a shame they favor Pixar/disney films since they continuously win.
if you want my opinion, the book of life wouldve been the best to see win and it was such an amazing movie all around. oh well, i'm just crossing my fingers that they'll stop putting disney films on a pedastal

Oh, I must have forget those news, but I'm still cutious about Animated short niminations.

Song Of the Sea looks stunning. From what I can tell from the trailer, it has a lovely art style and great music. I still have to find Secret Of Kells somewhere, I'd love to watch it, but I don't remember neither Secret of Kells nor Song Of the Sea being aired anywhere in theaters (or I just missed it since one of the cinemas in my cite [the world's oldest cinema by the way] plays those less known movies)

That's a shame httyd2 didn't win. Httyd2 is an amazing and beautiful film! Not to mention epic!

I was hoping for How To Train Your Dragon 2 to win for Best Animated Feature but oh well, I'd say congrats to them. :-)
