On July 12, 2012, while Ice Age 4: Continental Drift was in full swing at the box office, John Leguizamo (the voice of Sid) was asked in an interview on the possibility of a fifth Ice Age movie.“It sounds like they’re working on something. So hopefully the answer is YES, but I cannot say for sure.” he responded.
A few years later, the news became official that Ice Age 5: Collision Course will be released in theatres on July 22, 2016!
In this instalment of the popular series, Scrat’s mishap in space puts the heard once again in peril and forces them to leave home. They then come upon an exotic paradise and meet a colourful cast of characters including Shangri Llama, and the return of Ice Age 3’s fan-favourite charcter Buck!
The short film Cosmic Scrat-astrophe was released to promote the film before theatrical screenings of Blue Sky’s The Peanuts Movie starting from November 9, 2015.
