simba's hair changes color in first and second movie

lionxxking93 :

this is my first article.tell me if you like it.
i kno tht the second lion king wasnt as good as the first.lets face it the art was a little off.although i didnt appreciate the art as much;the story was pretty good and the music was awesome.i noticed in (other) article they explain how nalas eye color changed;well in the second movie simba's hair color was completely different.i have 2 pictures to proove my point.
.in the first movie simbas hair was redish-brown

.in the second movie it was a redish-purple

believe it or not they messed with simba's color!

Disney changes its animation as technology progresses. TLK2 is in softer tones and more blended colors than the original. It's different animation and drawing, but it's -highly- unlikely that they "forgot what Simba looked like". Really? If you worked for YEARS on a character, drawing him and putting together scenes and discussing what to put on, what to cut- you're not going to forget something that's become a part of you. And especially when some fan thinks that they know more about intentions than the actual creators do...I see this a lot with books, too. People think they know more about the fictional material than the author, who created said material! It's crazy.

The two pictures being compared are not good examples. To compare, choose two at night (or sunset, whichever) or two in the daylight.. Colors 'change' at night, because of lighting, even in real life.

Also, lions in real life change. They don't forever have the same color of pelt or mane. Stress, food, fighting- it all takes a toll on a lion, and especially if the whole "simba's firstborn was killed" thing happened, that's stress and fighting (and a good reason he would be super protective of Kiara). And he went from eating bugs in the first one, to eating meat again in the second- which would change his overall health and condition. The people working on TLK studied lions during production, and might have even added a bit in there.

There are very few movies where the characters remain -exactly- the same in the sequel. The little kids, which Disney is geared toward, won't notice, and the other fans can still tell it's Simba. It's a sequel. It can never be the original.

Good article!I think that this different colors belongs to animation.I
think that animators just forget how Simba looks(i'm talking about the
colors),or it's just belongs to animation technic and making. This
belongs from years when movies was created too.I think that, you will
see,TLK 1 was created on 1994 and SP was created on 1998.I think that
from that long time the animation technologies was changed into others
what just take the movie another colors. That's all.

they have also messed up his fur colour nose colour eye shap and many
more and if you notice he is still young when *kiara or kopa w.e. is
born and in the second one is too old because theyve broadened his
features too much?

Yeah, I was thinking about that today. I personally really
didn't like the way they did the color in the sequel.
Everything seemed a lot darker, including the sky and stuff. I guess they may have used another program for color...?

this a good article i agree simbas hair does change in
the lk2. simbas hair is darker in lionking1 and in lk2 it
gets lighter they probably didnt concentrate on the orginal
colours in the second movie. and the other mistake they made
was nalas eye colour cahnge. nalas fur colour also gets
darker in the second film in lk1 it is pale they must of
wanted simba and nala to look like mature adults

They also changed his nose color, too. It was a pinkish
color then a purple color.

yer mum.
Well you must realize that when the animators look back,
they ATTEMPT to get the colours as close as possible, but
they can't always do that. They get it as close as possible,
and then that is that. In alot of the older movies in their
sequels the colours have changed slightly due to time. It
happens in alot of animated movies.

That is true in fact. But all the other colors of
TLK-characters changed as well... Have you noticed Simba's
fur is also nearly orange instead of golden brown? *sigh*
It is possible they changed it because he's supposed to
be "older", but the entire color-scheme is different in this
movie... Something that annoys me pretty much >.>

No offence but its called a mane not hair. And I noticed

The first one was darker in the day bringing out his mane
darker. And in the second one it was bright out so i geuss
they made his mane lighter.
