Personality: Like her mother, Atiena is always willing to engage in combat, wether it's a playful battle or a real one; she can be trusted, but she isn't the one to go right on and finish something asked of her or something she's set her mind to. She is very courious and this usually ends up getting her into trouble all too often, and Atiena's quite bold and will stand her ground in a fight, refusing to back down and have others call her, or her sister, weak. As a cub, she was very feisty and quiet headstrong, but now that she's older, Atiena is better at getting things done on time and a little more respectful of her heritage. Many males of the Pride enjoy her company, though she is still harsh and brash with her words, and she even had a few propose marriage to her, but Atiena always turns them down. No, it's not that they are all not pleasing to the eye, but Atiena is afraid of changes and marriage means commitment, and she still wants to live her old life; Atiena also believes that she will not fulfill her mate's wants, like having a family, and believes that he will become angry and leave her alone.

History: Atiena and her sister Nadira were born in a dusty den on the outskirts of the Prideland's border.
As cubs, she and her sister never got a chance to see their father until they were  almost a year old. Their mother then took the girls all the way back to Priderock, and the enormous stone structure baffled Atiena; she had never seen a rock this big in all of her life and the sight of it frightened her a little. Her father and other family members lived here? This rock was pretty large, so that meant that they were very important, right? How right she was; her aunt and uncle, Kiara were heir to the thron of Priderock while King Simba and Queen Nala, her grand parents, were the current rulers.
After Atiena and Nadira were welcomed into the Pride with a few other cubs, their mother showed them to their father. Nadira was nervous of the older lion's presence, but Atiena warmed up to him right away. She began to grow more close to Itembe than to Vitani, earning the title of of a "daddy's little girl" from her father.
Atiena and her father did everything together and soon she became an excellent huntress...well the cub equivalent to an actual huntress.

Future: As the years passed, Atiena and her parents grew more and more apart; while she wanted to go off on her own without her mother and father watching her every move, Itembe and Vitani forced Atiena to stay near the Pridelands. Atiena eventually persuaded her parents to allow her to go off and hunt by herself, however they were weary due to the fact that their eldest daughter, Nadira, had finally joined another pride of lions miles away and Atiena was usually kept under the watchful eye of her sister when her parents weren't around.
Finally feeling free of her parents, Atiena took off toward the border of the Pridelands and the Oustlands (Shadowlands) and "hunted" there, meaning the young lioness actually went exploring the dangerous lands on her own without protection and without knowledge of the dangers that awaited her.
She wasted half of her day by looking around her parents' old homeland, which was barren, dry and full of termites. Just like her mother described it when she told stories of her past to Atiena. There were no lions in sight; the Outlands were very much uninhabited. That was, until Atiena met a young lion about her age. He was a dingy gray color with a slightly blotchy pelt; he introduced himself as Bakari. Atiena didn't trust him at first, he was very talkative and followed her around like a lost cub; Bakari finally managed to stop Atiena from moving around and properly introduced himself. The younger lioness introduced herself as well and the two felines opened up to each other and discussed their likes and dislikes, discovering out that they had a lot in common.
After spending a few more hours just talking, Atiena  told Bakari that she had to go home or her parents would come looking for her, and he asked where she lived, offering to walk her home. Atiena stated that she was a Pridelander and that her newfound friend shouldn't follow her back to Pride Rock in fear that he would be attacked on sight. Understanding her want to keep him out of harm's way, Bakari bidded farewell and left.
After that, Atiena made regular arrangements to go and see Bakari every day.
