Personality: He is kind and caring, he isn’t quick to judge, and hates when other’s are put down just for their looks. He loves to spend time with the pride and although he isn’t popular with them, he tries his best to keep them entertained. He is close to his twin brother but because of his overruling personality he prefers not to be around him much.

Likes: Warm days, the Pridelands, talking with the lionesses, hunting, long afternoon sleeps by Priderock, and playing with the cubs.

Dislikes: Hyenas, the way Simba treated the Outlanders, that he never got to meet his father, rude lions, and when others judge someone based on their looks.

History: He was born during a secret meeting between Nala and Nuka. What had been something out of fun turned into two twin boys. Nala knew Simba would tell the two weren’t his but hoped he’d take them all the same. Simba was upset but Nala came up with a lie saying that the mating had been unwanted and that she wasn’t willing to let her cubs suffer for it. Simba agreed to let her keep the cubs and that he would raise them as his own. As the two got older it was decided by Kovu that Atsu, Kpodo’s younger brother would take the throne after him(this was decided as it was found out that Kiara was infertile). Kpodo couldn’t complain, he was happy that his brother would be king, he couldn’t have done it anyway with him being the weaker of the two. Soon before anyone knew it the twins were teens and were starting to realize that Simba wasn’t their father. Nala decided to tell her cubs the story of their true father while Simba was out tending to Kingly duties. Kpodo was more excepting then Atsu. Atsu hated the fact that his real father had been nothing more then a weakly who could even stand up to a ‘few sticks’, as he had put it. Nala had told the teen to realize his place. Atsu had lowered his head, but Kpodo knew it wouldn’t be the last they saw of Atsu’s bad side. As time passed the two grew and soon the two were old enough to fend for themselves. Atsu was still busy being trained how to be a king, Kpodo however was spending time with the lionesses and learning how to hunt. He almost seemed like more of one of them rather then a male lion. He became somewhat of the talking buddy to them, and he didn’t mind it one bit. He did however have his limits; he couldn’t be used as an emotion release buddy, until he hunted with them. Weird rule and he knew it, but he wanted to make sure he could trust them.

One day when Atsu was out sulking because Simba had told him he couldn’t do something. A new lion was found near Priderock. Though Kpodo hadn’t been there he heard that the lioness had attacked Kiara and had attacked Kovu when he tried to protect Kiara, however soon all was settled and the lioness was soon allowed into the Pride. During the first few days with then new arrival being there Kpodo found out that the lioness was instead a lion. He didn’t care either way though. When the humans came Kpodo was the first to try and protect Abdul, but the lion seemed to have it handled on his own. After the humans left and Lila and Abdul confessed their feelings for each other Kpodo felt an emptiness that he’d never felt before. He ignored the feelings for now and tried to be happy for the new couple. However their happiness soon turned to sorrow for Abdul. Kpodo had been out hunting with Lila and Vitani when a rouge attacked them. As much as Kpodo tried to protect the two females he was no match for the older and stronger lion. In the end Lila was killed and Kpodo was badly hurt. He sent Vitani to get the others and stayed behind with his fallen friend.

Over the next few days Kpodo slowly, and painfully, recovered from his wounds. He had went to find his brother when he over heard Simba and Abdul talking, they were talking about males liking other males. At Simba’s reply Kpodo felt a weight be lifted off of him as he had been feeling as though something was wrong with him. He just didn’t see females the way other male seemed to. He left them alone to continue his search for his twin. When he found him the younger was growling loudly and throwing rocks. “Atsu, brother. What is wrong?” Kpodo asked formally as he sat down a distance from him. Atsu was known to strike out when snuck up on. As the slightly older lion had expected his brother slashed out, however all his claws caught was air. “What the hell do you want Kpodo?” The younger yet stronger lion snarled, turning away from his brother to continue what he had been doing. “I just wanted to see my twin. Is there a crime in that brother?” Kpodo asked as he offered his brother a caring smile. To which he just glanced at him and growled. “Oh come now Atsu, why must you always act so rashly hmm?” He asked as he stood and walked over to his brother. “Father will…” He began but Atsu cut him off. “Simba is not our father! Nor will I ever treat him as my father!” The younger lion snarled and Kpodo nodded slightly. “Yes, he is not our father, but he raised us as if we were indeed his own. I for one am grateful for that.” He lowered his gazed then looked back up at his twin. “Look at it this way Atsu, we never met our real father, and until mother told us about Nuka we had always thought Simba was our father, why should that change? I will continue to see him as my father, for he was the one who raised me. But then again that is just me as you know Atsu, you are entitled to your own.” With that the older twin stood and left leaving his brother alone to glare as his retreating figure.

News soon spread that Abdul was expecting cubs, Kpodo had at first thought they were talking about his mate, but he soon realized that the lion himself was indeed pregnant. Kpodo was happy for him, but once again felt that emptiness in his heart. He still couldn’t figure out what it was, but he ignored it once more. Once again everything was right in the Pridelands, Simba was a kind and caring leader, and the lands were at peace. Kpodo went back to being the lionesses talking buddy, and hunting partner. However peace never lasts long. Not long after Abdul told the pride that he was expecting cubs, his mate a lion by the name of Patric left him for a female, and the two of them left to start their own pride. Not long after that Abdul was attacked and nearly raped by a rouge, and it caused his cubs to be stillborn. Kpodo felt heartbroken for him. Abdul had suffered so much, first the humans, then the death of his first mate and unborn cubs, then his second mate leaves him and he loses his cubs in birth. Kpodo wanted to do something but he wasn’t sure of what. So one day he decided to go talk to him, at first Abdul snarled at him, and Kpodo kept his distance from him just in case. “I don’t mean to disturb you Abdul, but I only wish to know how you’re feeling.” He said kindly as he offered the broken lion a soft smile. Abdul just glared in return. “How do you think I’m feeling!” He snarled, and Kpodo signed. “I can guess, however I’ve never been through any of the loss that you have. However, I can say that if you ever need anyone to talk to. I’m always here for you.” He smiled warmly at him before leaving; he had a hunting party he promised to attend.

Over the next few days, Kpodo found Abdul seeking him out more and more. Kpodo wouldn’t always talk when Abdul where there, he just let the other lion express his feelings. And sometimes when asked something he would answer, or he would tell a funny story just to hear the other male laugh. He soon found out what the emptiness feeling was, it really hadn’t been emptiness at all, he had fallen for the lion without realizing it and had grown jealous of the other lions he was mates with. After a while of growing close to Abdul, Kpodo finally decided to confess his feelings for him. He signed as he walked over to the lion, who smiled up at him as he sat down. “Hey, Abby.” He said, he had given Abdul the nickname during one of the times Abdul had come to him, and since then the name just sort of stuck to Kpodo. “I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I think it’s finally time that I tell you. If you turn me away I understand, but Abdul, I’ve found that I love you, I can’t help I just….” He was cut off as the other male silenced him with a kiss. Kpodo’s eyes widened and his heart rate sped up. When Abdul pulled away he was smiling happily. “I love you to Kpodo.” He said and the two kissed again to seal their mateship.
