History: Elim was born to unknown parents. It was said that they had abandond him, therefore making him an orphan. No colony wanted to take him in.

Elim was a weak little pup, thus making it hard to find a home for him. Most of the colonies wanted a hard worker, who would dedicate their lives for he colony. Elim wasn't exactly known as a hard worker. He had grown up with no chores or anything like that, thus considered lazy. But Elim knew more then any of the colonies, because he liked to stay up in the trees, watching over the Pridelands from it. It was actually Rafiki's tree, but Elim didn't know that anyone lived there, so he stayed there for most of his life. 

One day though, Timon found him, and brought him back to his own colony. Elim thought he fit right in there: Timon felt like an outsider to the colonies also, so as you could imagine, they became best friends. Elim shared all his secrets to Timon, and Timon did the same back. They were inseperable, and the two were the best of friends.

But soon, Timon began to grow uncomfortable and restless in the life of a meerkat, and everything changed when he was put on guard duty, and made a big mess of the tunnels. Every one was angry, except Elim. He was scared Timon was going to run away, and confronted him, for he didn't want his best friend to leave. But he did, and Timon set off to find a new life.

Without Timon, life in the colonies was boring. He didn't pay attention to when a meerkat was talking to him, and began to lag behind in his duties. Soon he was thrown out. Or Elim kind of threw himself out. Anyhow, Elim was determined to find Timon.

Almost as soon as he set out, Elim saw the big old tree he hadn't visited in a while, he began to remember the old times. But Elim refused to look back at the past, and continued his search for Timon, until he came across pride rock. Pride rock was where all the lions lived, which was an enemy to the meerkat colonies. The colonies and the Pride hadn't became friends yet, so there was still a boulder shoved in front of the meerkats and lions. Elim kept low, and made sure he wasn't spotted or scented in other animals presence. He finally found a warthhog named Pumbaa who claimed he knew Timon. Overjoyed at this, Pumbaa directed him to where he had seen Timon last, but Timon was nowhere to be found. Discouraged again, Elim trudged back toward the moor, where he had felt unwatned. He would never see Timon again, his only best friend that he had had in all his life. But Elim would continue his search. He had to find Timon. He just had to.

Months had gone by, and Elim had still not found Timon. By the time he was elderly, he went back the colonies. He told to the pups of all his adventures, except left out the details of searching for Timon. Elim was sad he had never the chance to find his friend, but loved all the little pups in Timon's old colony. They were playful, bright-eyed, and optimistic. It cheered Elim to know that they were going to be the heart of the colony. As time went on, Elim began to his search again. Now that he was older, it was harder. When he died, the meerkats assumed it was because of his adventurous life, and what he had gone through. But none of them would ever know the real truth. Elim was reunited with Timon, and when Timon died, Elim was heart broken. But Elim was at least happy to see his best friend again before he died.

What to look for when rendering:

All you really have to remember his to get his stripe design on his back right. Also his more light fur coloring has a specific pattern that was a little difficult for me to follow, so I just wanted to add that in.
