Personality: Enzi is very strong willed, and will never back down from a challenge. He is also very sceptical, however, which causes others to underestimate his courage. The loss of his brother alters him in ways no lion can understand, and it is this loss that leads him to be much more serious and less playful, although he always has time to muck around with the cubs.

Bio:

Enzi is born into a time of darkness for the Empire. His older brother is already an older cub, his mane almost grown now, and the two brothers know they must stick together to survive. Taka, the Tyrant King of the Pridelands, has already condemned the Empire to death, and the Grasslands are no safer than the Pridelands.

Bahati hides her son from the hyenas that raid the Grasslands frequently, and on one of these raids, the poor lioness is killed. Enzi is distraught, but has no time to mourn, for Malka dashes him out of the Grasslands as soon as the coast is clear.

The two lions live as rogues skirting the Pridelands border for some time. and Enzi begins to meet Malka's friends, Tama, Tojo, Kula and Chumvi. He knows of Malka's undying affection for Tama, and tells her secretly one night. Tama goes immediately to Malka and the two pledge themselves to each other, and Enzi is pleased with his achievements. 

Enzi then meets Nala. He is but an older cub when he meets her, and is enchanted by her beauty. He falls in love with her, and can never be seen out of her company.

Then Malka tells his little brother he's leaving.

The cub is stunned. How could Malka want to leave? When the teen explains it's not safe for him and his friends, Enzi understands and wishes his brother good luck.

On the night the group is set to leave, Malka is discovered and Enzi is forced to watch, hidden behind Nala, as Malka is torn apart by hyenas. Enzi flees back to the Grasslands and stays there, lost in his tears.

As an older lion, he meets Akina. She is kind to him and sympathises with his losses. Enzi begins to feel a growing affection for her, and becomes her mate. 

Their son Tanabi is born, with a pelt as golden as the sun's light. Enzi dotes upon the boy, and is never seen without the cub trailing behind. When he learns of Simba's asension to the throne, he decides to visit the Pridelands with Akina and Tanabi.

When he arrives, he learns that Nala is running an errand in the Eastlands. Simba greets the family though and offers them a place to stay in Pride Rock.

Enzi learns of Tanabi's desire to explore, and begs the child not to. The threat of hyenas still lingers, and who knows what other dangers lurk in the shadows? On one of his son's trips, Nala stumbles upon him and meets Akina for the first time. She sees Tanabi's golden pelt and mistakes it for Simba's. When Enzi learns of this, he dreads what will happen next.

He discovers that Nala believes Tanabi is Simba's son, simply for his golden pelt and blood-red mane tufts. This drives the couple apart, no matter how much Simba, Akina and Enzi himself deny it. In the end, the family is forced to return to their home.

Enzi lives to a well old age, and sees his son marry the Princess, and then he passes on.
