Relation to the Lion King: Friend of Malka

As a young adult, Fumo was forced to leave his Pride early. He didn’t know what to do, so he just wandered along to the next Pride and met with the King. The King was called Malka, but he was weak from injury. Malka was also grieving for the loss of his son, Kanye, who ran away after refusing the throne. Fumo felt he should stay and look after the King to please him.

Fumo cared for Malka and the two of them became firm friends, however, Malka did eventually die from his injuries. Before he went to find the Great Kings of the Past, Malka told Fumo to find his son Kanye and apologise to him. Fumo promises.

Fumo left that evening to try and find Malka’s son. After a few months, he finds a new friend called Nadia, who is a bird. She listens to his tale and says he should give up and start a Pride of his own, as of tradition.

Fumo gets really angry at her and decides to just go away and hide himself from the world until they realised that he wanted to do things his way. In his hiding, he meets a lynx called Nafia. He found he could help her believe in herself again, but in doing so, Fumo felt he was helping himself. He took Nafia and found Nadia again and the three became firm friends.

Nadia tells Fumo that she felt so guilty after he left that she flew around to find a lion of Kanye’s description. She leads Fumo and Nafia to the Utendaji Pride, where Fumo begins by telling Kanye about his father. Kanye is upset at the news, but is also glad of an apology.

Fumo decides to stay in the Utendaji Pride with Kanye, Nafia and Nadia.

The Utendaji Pride was set up so I was able to educate everyone on musicals, one of my favourite things (get the pun?)! I just love them and their songs are so powerful, so each member of the Utendaji Pride is related to a different musical. Every picture of them will relate to a song and I will post the link of the song so you are able to listen to it, as well as a context in the story of the musical.
