History: Gabriel's parent's were not secret lovers. Zira wanted them to mate and have a male cub that looked like Kovu, who decided it should be best to respect his mother's wishes. But instead they had Gabriel, who looked more like his mother. Kovu did not care for Gabriel and barely spent time with him. Gabriel felt unloved, and asked Nala why. But Nala just said it did not matter, he would understand when he was older and Gabriel was perfect. Gabriel decided to believe her and kept out of his father's way. But then Nala told Gabriel that he was going to be a big brother. Gabriel, shocked, refused to talk to anyone. His mother had told him he was perfect, but if he was why did she want another cub of Kovu's?

Finally the new cub was born. Gabriel wouldn't look at it but at night he crept up to his baby brother. He didn;t want to seem interested in his brother in front of his parent's but Gabriel was actually very curious about his new brother. He was brown with green eyes, a lot like Kovu. Gabriel began to like his brother after that day.

As the terrible twosome grew, they began to plan more exciting things to do than just stalking butterflys since Jackson got bored and annoyed of the things Gabriel liked to do. So they went to the elephant graveyard but hyena's surrounded them. Not wanting to appear weak, Gabriel fought by Jackson's side and eventually the hyena's ran off. But Kovu had heard the fight and saw them alone. Gabriel was afraid of his father when he picked Gabriel up, not trusting him to even walk. When they eventually got home Kovu yelled at Gabriel, thinking it was his idea. Gabriel yelled at his father, saying that he was only concerned because Jackson could have gotten killed and ran off, tears streaming down his cheeks. He felt unloved and annoyed that Jackson got all the attention.

As Jackson trained more and more, Gabriel felt less and less connected to the real world. He did sometimes go with Jackson to train with Zira, as it amused him when Jackson would refuse to do anything, but never went near his brother when he was training with Kovu. Usually he would go to Jasmine or Adia, his cubsitters, but when Jackson was there Gabriel slunk off to the outlands. He decided that the only way to fit in was to show Kovu he could be what Kovu wanted. So Gabriel went to train with Jackson and Kovu, and did do a pretty good job, he even impressed Zira, but then Gabriel overheard Kovu saying to Nala that he was doing OK, but he could never be fitted to do what kovu wanted because he looked like a pridelander and like Nala. Heart-broken, Gabriel gave up trying to impress Kovu and decided to never interact with Kovu again.

As a teenager, he bagan to grow interested in the  great kings of the past. He asked Simba and Jasmine but often he asked Adia, since she knew the most about them. It passed the time hearing about the great Mohatu, and made him shiver when he heard about Scar.

As an adult, Gabriel knew he needed a mate. His brother Jackson was searching for one, and he should too. So, saying goodbye to his family, excluding Kovu, Gabriel set off towards the jungle to look for a mate.

During his search, Gabriel stumbled into a pit of thorns, that scratched his paw badly. The fall also broke his paw. A lioness helped him out and tended to his wounds. It took Gabriel a while for his paw to heal but at last he felt ready to return home, with his chosen mate, Adour, the lioness, who he fell in love with. He asked her to go back with him, and be his mate. Adour, looking unsure, agreed to back with him but she would see about being his mate.

When Gabriel returned home with Adour, the first person he saw was Kovu. Gabriel nodded to Kovu and went to walk off when Kovu stopped him. "And who is this lioness?" Kovu used a cold voice, but Gabriel stood calm. "You know I went to look for a mate, and I have brought her here. She is thinking about it, her name is Adour." He explained. "This lioness could be dangerous, part of an enemy pride." Kovu snapped. "She found me in the jungle and helped to heal my broken paw." Gabriel snapped. "She was on her own, and could help the pride a lot with injurys. I promise she is safe. But you wouldn't understand, you never took the time to know me, you always fanned and praised your favourite son, Jackson. You didn't want anything to do with me, you were too busy with Jackson." Gabriel continued to walk off but Kovu attacked Adour. Gabriel leapt on Kovu and tore him off. "Leave her alone, father, Adour has done nothing to you." He roared and lead her away. He introduced Nala to Adour, and hoped that they would get along.

After a few months, Gabriel found himself pacing backwards and forwards at night, wondering what Adour's answer would be. One night, when it was clear and calm, Gabriel saw Adour walk up to him. "Gabriel, I have made my decision." She began. Gabriel was waiting for the no and the claws on his face. "I will be your mate, Gabriel." Gabriel knew that Adour was nuzzling him, but he barely took any notice, he was just so happy to finally have a mate.
