Distinguishing Features: light orange-tan fur, eye patches, ear rims, green eyes, red-brown tail tuft, coloured paws and thighs, lighter ear insides, brown nose
Personality: Kamaria is almost a legend in the Pridelands. Humble, mature and wise, she stood out to be as great a queen as Mohatu was a king. She's pretty accessible for royalty, and encourages all the animals to come up if they have a problem at all. A kind, loving and patient mother, she believes that everything will work out if you work for it. She is a realist, and doesn't believe in the whole "swept-off-your-feet" love thing. Normally, she is a peace-loving queen, but in times of distress, she isn't afraid to take charge. Even though she is extremely tolerating, even she has to draw a line somewhere.
History:
Kamaria was born to the king and queen of the neighbouring pride to the Pridelands. Being the last born, she wasn't given much attention from her father, even though she got to spend time with him regularly when he took her, her brother and her sister together on nature trails and grouped lessons. Her father was a lion who believed in tradition, but also believed that all of his children should be trained in the royal ways followed by every pride. Secretely, Kamaria hoped to one day make her mark as queen too, so that she would be respected. Her mother, a wise lioness and the most respected in the pride, consoled her told her that being queen wasn't a piece of cake. Her sister was probably struggling with all the lessons she was taking. She listened to her mother, and kearned from her words, always being a lot more mature than the other cubs in the pride. When she was into her adolescence, her father bethrothed her to the Crown Prince of the neighbouring kingdom, the Pridelands. Even though her brother and sister put up a huge fight about sending her away, Kamaria looked upon it as a new adventure and was all for it, even though she was saddened by the fact that she wouldn't be coming back for a long time. When she arrived at the Pridelands, she found out that the reason why the king had decided to choose a lioness from another pride to be his son's bethrothed was that he had rejected all the lionesses in the pride. She soon came face-to-face with Mohatu, the lion who was going to be the future king. But, the first meeting didn't go too well. Mohatu was one of the lions who believed that he should have a say in who to marry and who to not. He was one of them who believed in the ideals of love, especially the kind of "swept-off-your-feet" love that everyone was talking about. but Kamaria knew that these were just these, ideas. And unlike the others, she didn't want to live in an idealistic world, not when the real world was so much better in other ways. So, she tried reaching out to Mohatu, trying to establish a friendship with the idealistic lion who was slightly hostile to her. Soon, she cornered him and got his friendship. As she put it, "We're gonna rule together someday. It'll hurt the entire kingdom when their king and queen are so hostile to each other." He became her best friend and she became his. They told each other everything, and soon grew closer, helping each other out with their respective expectations. By the time his father passed the kingdom down to him, she grew to love Mohatu and he loved her right back. Even though it wasn't the idealistic kind of love, she knew she would take a hit for him anyday. Ruling justly and wisely, she earned a reputation among the Pridelanders to be one of the best queens there ever was. Even though she loved her job, she also wanted to be a mother. Mohatu surprisingly wasn't very happy about the idea of a heir, but revealed that even he wanted to try out parenthood. It wasn't long before Kamaria found herself to be the proud mother of two cubs, Ahadi and Hiari. To her surprise, she found that even though Hiari was the older of the two, Mohatu simply wouldn't announce that she was his natural heir. When confronted, he revealed that since he was the oldest in his family, he was the heir. This made him the target of many humiliating practical jokes from his siblings and hardly enough time to spend with them. This had torn his family apart, and for what? Mohatu had sworn never to become his father, and to test to see which of his two kids would inherit the throne. A little surprised by his actins, but nonetheless believing them, Kamaria accepted the fact. She was a sole believer in tradition, but who's to say that new traiditons could never be made? Over the years, Mohatu constantly tested both his children to see who would become the next ruler, but kept it from them when he found out that they were both extremely capable. Luckily, Kamaria found a solution to the problem of who would be a ruler, since both of them expressed an interest in ruling. A couple of years back, the Pridelands had formed a distant relation with a pride across the Mountains. From the majordomo, Kamaria had found that the king, having only a son, was having trouble finding a suitable queen for him, and was looking at other prides. Kamaria knew Hiari was an excellent choice for that son since she had met him once or twice. Mohatu, a little against it, but finally settling to it, sent Hiari along with her to the Mountain pride. There, Hiari met her future mate, Zareb and it was love at first sight. Kamaria felt that her daughter was being a bit too childish, but was happy that she had found love. Returning to Pride Rock, she informed that Hiari had been given the priviledge of visiting whenever she wanted, and was going to be just fine. She and Mohatu relaxed knowing that their children were in safe hands. So, when the time came, Mohatu and Kamaria passed on the throne to Ahadi and his mate Uru, a rogue whom he had taken a shine to.
