Origins:
First picture on The Lion King Fan Art Archive 2007. Kucha was simply designed to be Vitani's son - his father does not have a design. He's one of the reasons why Akili went psycho.

The element of Nuka-ness is intentional, as well as some reference towards the "Nuka" beanie toy.

Name meaning:
Swahili for "claw".

Bio
Kucha was born when Akili and Khari were young cubs. As a young cub, Kucha is adorable, playful and affectionate. His secret adoration for Akili is thrown back into his face and the constant rejection causes him to become a harsh, spiteful adult. When Akili's betrothed Enzi dies and she turns to Kucha for comfort, he seduces her and sires a daughter upon her. When he learns of Akili's pregnancy, he flees the pride, knowing he would be exiled anyway. Khari uses birds to find him and pass on the message that his cub didn't survive, but even then he refuses to care.

In his life Kucha has a string of lovers and never feels satisfied. He swears undying love to each of them, only to run off with the next female who pays him heed, or to run a mile when he learns he is to become a father.

Distinguishing features
Mane scruffy and unkempt. As cub, lighter fur extends up to the neck, as in lionesses. Thick eyebrows. Small beard on chin. Outer ear-rims in cub become inner ear rims as adult. Claws show on all four paws.
