Personality: Leena is very strong willed, she would fight to the death for what she believes in. She has a mischievous nature which sometimes gets her in trouble. Leena was very respectful as her duties as a princess in her old pride. She did what was asked off her, if it was within reason. She loves spending time with the ones she cares about, and she is very friendly. She has a power of authority when she is being serious.

History: Leena was born into a Pride that lived near the Pridelands and Outlands, since her birth she was hailed as a princess, but wouldn’t be the future ruler of her pride. Her parents wished for a male ruler, but treated their daughter with love and affection, but they still wished for a son.

After the birth of her younger brother, Leenas parents began searching for a king to betroth her to. They didn’t have to search for long, because a lioness named Zira, arranged that her cub Kovu, who she was raising as a king to be Leenas mate. Leenas parents agreed straight away, and they soon set up a meeting for Kovu and Leena. When Kovu and Leena met, it was awkward at first, but the two soon relaxed at it was obvious that there was something there. They got along great, and Kovu and Leena subtly flirted with each other.

Leena saw less and less of Kovu as his training began, but he promised he see her whenever he could, as he promised that he had to become a big strong king for her.

As she grew into a teen, her beauty flourished. When she and Kovu next met, the attraction had grown between them, and others could feel the sparks. Now, Leena couldn’t wait till the day she and Kovu became mates, her mind rarely focused on anything else. She soon became emotional if she didn’t see him for a period of time. It caused annoyance among her pride at some point, but Leena soon stopped acting so outwards about her feelings and apologised to the ones she had pestered

When she finally reached adult-hood, Leena set out to go meet Kovu. But when she arrived at where they had arranged to meet the last time they had met, she was surprised to find he wasn’t there. She travelled on, in search of her betrothed, and soon heard news of him. Leena discovered that he was now king of the pridelands. The news rejoiced her, and she thought because he had been busy, so he couldn’t meet her. So she went to the pridelands, but received an even bigger shock. Yes, Kovu was king...But he already has queen and a son.

She waited until Kovu went out on a lone patrol, and then went to talk to him. When he saw her he was shocked, she was distraught. She had angry tears in her eyes, didn’t he care about her? Kovu explained the situation to her and that he was sorry. Leena wasn’t gonna lose him, so she told him that they could be together, yet no-one had to know. At first Kovu was reluctant, but he gave in, he loved her and couldn’t keep away from her.

They soon began to meet up in secret, behind Kiaras back.

After a while Kovu soon told Leena that they couldn’t do this anymore, but Leena had some shocking news, she was pregnant!

One day, a lioness from the pride spotted them nuzzling. She was so shocked that she ran straight back to the pride. Kovu and Leena knew that their secret was out, their fate was sealed. The two walked back to Priderock, Kovu promising he wouldn’t let her get hurt. When they arrived, the whole pride was listening to lioness.  As Kovu and Leena stepped into view, the pride looked at them in confusion. The most upset was Kiara, she looked like her heart had been shattered. Kovu tried to apologise to her, but she wouldn’t listen. Kovu and Kiaras cub Taka Jr, understood what was going on.

Not too long afterwards, Kiara soon grew sick, and she died of a broken heart a few weeks later. The pride were In turmoil, what would happen now? Leena listening to what Kovu said he was trying to do. Then he announced that Leena was his new queen, at first the pride resented him. He had betrayed Kiara. But they soon softened up once he told them that Taka Jr would still be future king. And that Kiaras bloodline would rule on.

Taka accepted Leena as his stepmother; she in return tried to be kind to him. She didn’t want to replace his mother, and she felt bad for being the reason he lost her. Leena soon gave birth to her cubs, Haruma and Siri. Names she and Kovu had chosen while they had been a secret. Leena was worried the pride wouldn’t accept her cubs as Prince and Princess, but they did. Even though she knew they would never rule after her, she loved them dearly.

At night she walked to the top of Priderock and whispered to the stars, that she was sorry for taking Kovu from Kiara. She never knew if Kiaras spirit forgave them..
