Personality: Lutalo is a lot like his grandfather Simba as a cub. He can't wait to rule everything one day and you can practically hear him singing "Oh, I just can't wait to be KING!" when he's out with his sister. But his aunt's death changes something in him. He doesn't want to rule anymore and prefers to sit on the sidelines and help out with the pride.

 

History: Lutalo was the first born son of Kovu and Kiara's litter of two. As the first boen, he was dubbed the rightful heir as soon as he was born. He only got to know when he was old enough to understand from his aunt Zuwena. He was so excited at that age, he couldn't stop jumping around like crazy. His uncle Kopa also joked saying that if he didn't stop jumping, he would become a grasshopper. He shred a very close friendship with another cub around his age called Teshi, who he learned later on, would be his queen. He couldn't stand the thought of marrying his best friend, and she felt the same way. When he was a little older, his father began to give him king training. He enjoyed it, but started to see that it wasn't that fun. But he held on with the thought that it would be a honor to continue after his father. He loved spending time with his aunt. One day, when he asked her what would have happened if she was queen. She replied that it would never happen as she didn't want to be queen at all, and that her joy lay in serving the pride. Lutalo learnt from those wise words and he never forgot them his whole life. These very words began to change Lutalo's vision of being king. He realised that it was a big responsibility. His father told him that he didn't have to be king right now, and that could wait till he was fully grown. He accepted this. The very next day, something happened that changed Lutalo's life forever. Early that morning, Zuwena had gone for a walk by the border. Unknown known to her, Lutalo tagged along, hiding in the bushes. Lutalo then say his uncle Nyasi come out. He had heard a lot about him and thought he had come to say hi. But what shocked him was when he claimed to have the right to rule and would do anything for it. He and Zuwena engaged in a furious fight because she told him that he would have to get to her first. Lutalo was so scared, he panicked and ran back. He told his family the story in a shaky voice, leaving out the part where he snuck off. His family ran over to the scene, but all they saw was a pool of blood and two bodies on the ground. Poor Lutalo didn't know what to think at all. He sobbed the whole night and was extremely quiet for the next few weeks. He went into a state of depression about it, which Teshi helped him out of. He told her that he didn't want to be king anymore, and she encouraged him to talk to his father. He straightforwardly told his father that he didn't want to be king anymore. He also conveyed to Kovu that his sister was the right one to rule. So, they made Fayola the heir. When asked what he would do now, he told her that he would find happiness in serving his pride. He also added in a low voice that it was what Aunt Zuwena would have done. His friendship with Teshi grew as they did. They both didn't like the bethroting at all, but accepted it, as it was the only way they could make their families happy. One day, he found Teshi caught in a stampede and nearly passed out. He jumped into it and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and dragged her out of the thundering hooves. She passed out as he got her to a safe place. When she came around and he told her what had happened, she thanked him. Over the next few days, their bond strengthened, making Lutalo wonder whether it was a right decision to bethroth them both. He found out that he had grown feelings for Teshi ever since he saved her. They talked it out during the night, and proclaimed themselves as mates. Soon, Fayola befriended a lion called Maxx and started developing feelings for him. Lutalo was the classic overprotective big brother who didn't want Maxx anywhere near his sister.
