Parents: Scar and Kali

Siblings: Kula, Nuka, Mheetu, Elanna (half siblings)

Personality: Maru is a fun-loving and carefree cub. It takes a lot to bother him and he usually just goes with the flow. He is a follower rather than a leader but he can have moments where he is willing to pick up the mantle. He loves all his half siblings but is closest with Mheetu.

History: Maru was the result of Scar's attempt to ensure he had heirs to carry on his throne. He mated with several pride lionesses and sired three cubs: Maru by Kali, Mheetu by Sarafina and Elanna by Naanda. The three cubs were born during a time of very little food and the lionesses did not want Scar to get to his cubs. They made an agreement that, if the oppertunity arose, the young cubs would be taken away from the Pridelands.

It just so happened that a few weeks after the births, a rogue male named Ni entered the Pridelands. The lionesses sought him out but intitally he refused their pleas but the lionesses would not give up and eventually he reluctantly agreed to take the cubs and raise them far from Scar's influence.

Ni took the cubs and fled. He raised them all as he wandered from territory to territory and soon he was regarded as a father by all of them.
