Personality; Very laid back, much like Nala as an adult, very strict and motherly.

                                                   Her story.

After Simba had 'died', Scar told Nala that he would make her a queen someday. Nala hated him. Once Nala grew up, Scar took Nala, and forced her into mating with him, that Nala's mother's life depended on it. Scar wanted Nala for this, because he knew that she was indeed the most beautiful lioness, and she would bear him a suitable son for the throne. He did, however; warn Nala that if she bore him a daughter, the daughter would be murdered. Monthes later, Merai was born. Scar was disgusted.

Nala begged and begged Scar not to kill Merai. For some reason, Nala grew highly attached to her new daughter. He told her he would let Merai live, if she stayed inside the cave at all times, and Sarafina would have to mother her. For Nala, she had 'queen duties' to do.

Monthes came and gone, for all Merai new was darkness. Merai grew into a very fine looking cub. ... One day, Nala came into the dark cave and told Merai, "Merai, I need to go away for awhile. I need to look for help. Pride Rock will be dead if I don't leave. Sarafina will look after you." Merai rolled her eyes and sighed. "Dosen't she always." She said. Nala sighed with sadness and took off.

When Nala had returned with Simba, Merai grew into a very beautiful teenager. Scar had always threatened Merai that if her mother didn't return, he would have to kill her. She wasn't scared at all though. For all she knew was darkness. Merai also had grown up with eye sight problems, for all her eyes saw were darkness.

Merai was estactic that her mother returned. At first when she saw Simba, she didn't like him. But she grew to love him as time went on. After Scar's death, and the exile of Scar's mate, Zira, the young cub Nuka, and at the time, newborn Vitani, and the others who followed Scar, Simba and Nala took the throne and Pride Rock was back to normal again. Simba didn't like the fact that Merai had Scars blood in her, but he took her in just like he was his, and grew very, very fond of her.

Merai was now almost fully grown whenever Kopa was born. She loved Kopa very, very much and almost mothered him more Nala did. Once Kopa was a very young teen, and Fluffy and Kiara were born, he started disapearing, leaving Merai very uncomfortable. She decided to follow him one day, and found out he was visiting Scar's daughter, Vitani. Merai then decided to tell Kopa that she had followed him, and that it wasn't safe to be with Vitani. Kopa grew very depressed. Merai hated  seeing him like this and told him he could visit Vitani as long as she went with him.

Merai grew very fond of Vitani. But one day, Zira showed up in the middle of no where. Merai fought Zira, but since Merai wasn't a full grown up yet, she wasn't as strong as Zira. Zira had 'killed' Kopa, and took Vitani away. Merai was devastated. Years past. She was not very fond of Kiara, at all. Kiara and both Fluffy were very careless and annoying to her. As time went on, Kovu joins Priderock. She learns that Kovu is only trying to kill Simba. She was resting at the waterhole one night when ever she heard a voice say, "What are you doing Kovu, get him!?"  She jerked up and asked who she was.

Vitani however; knew exactly who she was. "Merai?" "How are you?" "It's me, Vitani...." Merai gasped. She was shocked to see how beautiful she had grown. "Vitani, don't do this. Kiara is Kopa's sister! Don't hurt us like this, Vitani." She begged. "Kopa is DEAD, Merai." And then she ran off. Merai was sad. 

In the midst of the fight, a low voice said, "Leave my sister alone, Zira." Merai instantly knew who it was. "Kopa..!" She was the happiest ever. "Vitani, now." Zira yelled. Vitani looked at her mother in disgust. "No, mother! Kiara's right." She said, and stood beside Merai. "Enough." "Then if you do not fight, then you will die as well. Hmmhmmhmmhmm... This is for you, Scar." Merai gasped, "NO!" she pounced on Zira, making them fall over the cliff.

"Merai!" Simba yelled, and went after her. "Simba...Simba the river!" Nala called out. She was so scared to loose her daughter. Finally, she got to the top, after Zira's fall. Vitani and Kopa took the throne, and Kiara and Kovu started a Pride all their own. Merai is now looking for her own mate.
