Relation to the Lion King: In a Pride with Malka and Kula’s son.

Nemsi was born in a troubled time. His parents were the King and Queen of the Pride, but they were at war with a neighbouring Pride. When Nemsi was a few months old, there was a giant battle and both his parents perished and Nemsi was taken in by another lioness.

Soon, the new lion took over the Pride and forced Nemsi to leave or be killed. His adoptive mother pleaded with the King to let him stay a few more months, just to give him strength. The King agreed, but only on the condition that Nemsi had little food as not to take anything away from the members he wants to keep in his Pride.

After a few months, Nemsi headed off in search for love. He constantly dreamt of a Pride or a family that would take him in a love him with all their might. However, before he left, he promises to free his adoptive mother from the rule of the King, but even though Nemsi did return, the King had been defeated and the new leader had taken his adoptive mother as his Queen and they were both very happy.

However, soon after he set out he found a cub called Yatima who was roughly his age. He finds out that she is an orphan too and they decide to stick together.

When they were adults, Nemsi and Yatima find the Utendaji Pride and they love being there!

The Utendaji Pride was set up so I was able to educate everyone on musicals, one of my favourite things (get the pun?)! I just love them and their songs are so powerful, so each member of the Utendaji Pride is related to a different musical. Every picture of them will relate to a song and I will post the link of the song so you are able to listen to it, as well as a context in the story of the musical.
