History (told by Nika): I was born unto Vitani and Kopa. I never met my sister, Tanner, because I was born a few mounths after she was killed (see Tanner's profile for details). I was a pretty headstrong as a cub. One day Vitani (Mom) wanted me to stay away from the water hole, for there had been hyena sightings there. Did I stay away? No, of couse not! I got Colleen and we went together. On the way we practiced our hunting skills by pouncing at field mice, and I caught two! We shared four field mice (Colleen caught two also), and went on our way. A few yards down the path, I started to see tracks. When we got to the water hole, I heard laughing in the distance. We took a quick swim and started home. But by then the laughing had grown louder. Then I realizied the hyenas were chasing us! I ran to find Kopa (Dad), But I ran into Dotty instead. "Help us," I pleaded. "Hyenas!" Dotty roared for the other lionesses, and went to get those hyenas out of the pridelands. Vitani then scolded them for disobeying. You could have been KILLED!" she said. "But we had a plan!" I fibbed. "We were going to get the hyenas to come here, and then have the lionesses kill them!" "Nice try," said Vitani. "But you will have to be punished for disobeying. You may not join us for tonight's hunting lesson." I felt really bad that Colleen couldn't go, for I had told her that Mom said we could go to the water hole. "Let her go," I said. "she didn't do anything wrong. I told her that you said we could go." Vitani smiled. "Okay, but that won't get you out of it." When they got back they had a BIG suprise! A buffalo! "How'd you do it?" I asked, amazed. "We attaacked it from behind," said Colleen. "Well, they did. Mom told me to stay back. But I caught a rabbit!" We shared the meal and went to bed. It was an eventful day, and I was tired. I curled up with my five siblings, and went to sleep.
