Tanabi was born during the time Simba became king. But was unknown to the pride that Nala was pregant even before. Tanabi was hidden away near the border of the outlands. He at a very young age was left alone in the cold, dark nights. Nala still cared for Tanabi for months. Till she was disappearing at days at a time, turns out Nala became pregant with Simba's future heir (kopa). Nala would try her best getting food for Tanabi but it was hard simba was being protective. 

One night Zira (who was not yet exiled) was hunting annoyed and yet still hating simba when she heard mewing and whining. She found Tanabi still little but thin in a little burrow. Zira brought Tanabi to the pride. Simba seeing how zira found this poor cub alone he set her to take care of him. Nala became worried about him more and more.

When was about to be born Tanabi told Zira everything. Zira went to Nala threatening to tell simba. Nala attacked Zira who attacked her. Simba came and exiled the pregant Zira and Tanabi out with her followers

Tanabi ran away from the group in the end becoming cold and heartless. He would wonder for days to find himself.
