Relation to the Lion King: Joins the Nyika Pride which is led by Tojo and his mate is Tojo's daughter!
Yusuf was abondonded by his parents in a scrub not too far away from the Nyika Pride's territory. He cannot remember his parents.
Whereas any other cub would die in such a harsh place and world to live in, Yusuf survived, eating snails, lizards and, if he was lucky, tortoises. He considered himself lucky to survive. Everyday he would caught some food, visit a river then sleep in a secure place. This got very repetitive and boring. He wanted a better way to live, without fear or doubt.
One day, he wandered into the Nyika Pride. Being a harmless young cub they took him in to be a friend for Binti. He got on really well with Binti and they became really good friends. They would play endless games of tag and hide and seek. Yusuf wondered if this was really his life now, that he belongs in the Nyika Pride with Binti and her parents and followers.
As a teen, she began to love him and he got worried. What if his parents did come back? Would they abandon him once again for he had found a place to be part of? Then, after worrying about his parents he thought about his life with Binti. Would he make a good mate? Could he protect her if she needed protecting? Then he realised that she was actually going to be the leader of the Nyika Pride. Would she stil want him as her king? What if he wouldn't make a good king? Would he fail in the legal duties?
However, he ingnored his brain and followed his heart which was with Binti and he stayed with her forever.
