First of all, Toy Story 3 was released on Tuesday on DVD and Blu-Ray. It is also available on iTunes, where on its first day of sales, it became the best-selling movie ever offered on the service. Reports of its first-day sales are not available yet, but Disney is confident that the movie will sell as well on DVD as it did in its theatrical run.

Next up, it looks like Who Framed Roger Rabbit is getting a sequel. The original movie was released in 1988, combining live-action as well as traditional animation. It received six Academy Awards, and is often deemed as the film that revived adult interest in animation--leading to the financial and critical success of such films as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

In addition, Pixar has officially released the teaser trailer for Cars 2, their next movie. It releases in the US on June 24, 2011. After this film, Pixar will release Brave in Summer 2012.

Please for the love of god tell me that Cars 2 is a joke. Those 32 seconds make it look like they competely ruined the movie. Mater & Lightning secret agents? No... Just no. >.>

There's a hint of irony in that this news is being posted here on Balto Source. It was at least in part because of the original Toy Story that Balto didn't get the recognition it deserved, because they were released in theaters almost at the same time.

It was just bad judgment on Universal's part, they probably assumed Toy Story wouldn't be as good as it was and didn't think it would matter. But Balto came and went in theaters while Toy Story continued to dominate box office sales. That combined with Universal's terrible/nearly nonexistent marketing for Balto pretty much assured its fate.

It's nothing against Toy Story - I love Toy Story. I just wish the timing of their respective releases had been different.

Rock of Ages
Oh boooo. I do hope they're kidding about the secret agent thing for Cars 2. I loved Cars and the fact it was based on Route 66 and the Nascar (I think? O.o ) racing was brilliant.
I dread to think how they'd make Lightning and Mater secret agents, it sounds .... horrible.

hmmmm... not so sure about Cars 2... unless they still have a bit of country and Route 66 in there, even if it`s just a bit, i might enjoy it. i most likely will have to see it because of my mom loving Mator.
