After JerseyCaptain submitted fan news about the fan member's creations, I decided to do it myself, in hopes of getting some new members, more TLK related images, and perhaps getting you more active! I just picked out a few fan member's drawings, images, fanfics etc., ones that The Lion King Source site boosters found interesting, so here they are!
First off, we have the lovely edit of Sarabi and Mufasa by Claire Cooper, which I found very attractive, and easy to look at. The colors in the image are just lovely, don't you think?
Next, we have another lovely drawing of Kion and Simba together made by Shinku_No_Kenshi, which is our current must-see in the fanart section. Although we don't know Kion's full personality yet, I would imagine him being a playful cub, that took after his daddy. Shinku really got their colors down pat as well! Definitely an extraordinary masterpiece!
In the image below to the left, we see yet another drawing of Simba and Kion, this time including Kiara, by Silverbreeze. It really caught my eye, and is an adorable drawing of bonding time! When you look at this picture, the first thing that you may notice is the background...very colorful! It brings the whole image together.
Now on the image to the right, you can see a drawing of Scar, made by Windhowler. This is also a drawing that is featured as a must-see, but I thought it was a very deserving image, and should be should be shown on the fan news! She did a really awesome job with this one! Doesn't she always though?
Now we go to the fanfic that is going to be featured in this fan news, called What Could Have Been - Prologue, by Dracarys. I found it quite interesting, going into details about what happened to Kopa and Mheetu, and what happened after Kiara became queen of the Pridelands. I would suggest reading that! As for articles, I would definitely recommend reading How The Lion King 2 Should Have Been, by Eris. It has all kinds of interesting facts on how The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride was in earlier drafts, so go there now and read it!

As I have said before, JerseyCaptain has posted a fan news on The Secret of NIMH Source, much similar to this one, so I would suggest checking it out! Who knows, maybe your fan work will be featured on the fan news on there one day, so I would suggest submitting more on The Secret of NIMH Source!
These fan works that were featured in this fan news were mostly selected by me, but I have asked the TLK Site Boosters to give me the links to what fan works they like, so you'll just have to wait for more! You may not just be hearing from me though... ;)
Well, this is about all! The Site Boosters for TLK Source have agreed to do this about every month or three weeks, depending on what reaction we get and how this effects the site. I am glad you are supporting and encouraging these fan member's work!

Legolas - which is why, in terms of collages, I prefer this one by
Claire. Most of the collages on all the sources tend to be too busy,
too overloaded with effects and images, which make them chaotic and
hard to interpret. And really are not that good. This, on the other
hand, is a clean, simple and beautiful piece, and how all collages
SHOULD be done (or at least similar to this one). |

Yes, I do find that Gums, Windhowler and Pawface all do more original
drawings (there tends to be a lot of ones that are drawn on GIMP or
Photoshop), which I prefer to see more. Although I do like seeing
their ones drawn on Paint (whatever it's called) as well, since Paint
is pretty hard to master. Claire Cooper's was my first choice - although it's not that collage or awesome signature you expect to see, I thought it was a very nice and deserving image (she does a lot of nice edits, if you look in her gallery). What's also been bugging me is that fan works with people's fan characters seem to get more of the feedback and attention. I would like to see some more of the graphics, like Claire Cooper's for example get that. |

Incidentally, a belated thanks for the mention, Legolas. Heh. And
this is a good job! I particularly liked seeing Claire's and
Windhowler's contributions...it's nice to see art styles that aren't
the run of the mill, which we see all over the site. And these two
qualify as something more unique and interesting! |
