Our Only Hope

Sarafina paced in the meeting spot, her tail twitching nervously. "Nala?" She called out quietly when she saw her beloved daughter through what little grass was left. "I wish I didn't have to do this- sending you away from home like this." Sarafina commented with a hint of irritation. "Mom," Nala began, nuzzling her mother. "We don't have a choice. If I don't go and find help there won't be a home to return to." Sarafina sighed, nodding her head. "Go now. Quickly! And be sure you are not seen by those mangy beasts Scar keeps around. " She responded, pulling away and watching as her now grown cub disappeared into the night. "You're our only hope." She whispered to no one but herself.
