why was the Secret of Nimh rated G

Network Surferdepending on how dark that movie was especially with some mild violence and blood and scary scenes shouldnt it have received a PG rating instead .

The PG-13 rating didn't exist before 1984, so a PG rating was skewed
closer to what a PG-13 rating is today. That and the MPAA is pretty
arbitrary about how they rate films to begin with. |
