Yes! It's another.... Princess and the Frog related image!
Wow, like you didn't expect that to happen from me. Seriously though, it's a fun movie with excellent character development. No matter how much the fangirls pine for more appearances of Dr. Facilier(ominous forshadowing on future art).
Anyways, this took me some effort since I accidentally drew this on the back of a paper bag rather than the front. Which left a indent on the art I was working on.
Also, Louie as a human is much easier than Tiana or Naveen. While Eric Goldberg works with roundness, what the heck is it that the protagonists have to be so angular and compact?! I have better to work on Louis just due to having some width to the character.
About Naveen's eyes, I didn't mean to make them small, the inking just changed in the process, compared to the pencil. now that I look at the image again, I feel that he looks like Jimmy Derante.
Personally, I find Tiana's Duke uniform the prettist outfit in the picture. Sure, it's pedestrian, and it's not flashy, but it has the charm that the other dresses didn't have. It was simplistically one color, but the design works.
Ongoing with the closing design, I decided to have Naveen and Tiana in the pedestrian clothing since it would work in the city of New Orleans rather than in a kingdom. This picture is intentionally drawn to have the New Orleans backdrop. Having the outfits based as the color schemes in their animal forms gives it a plus.
As for Louis, that's the only outfit that I feel that someone with little money would wear at the time, and I think that's due to Tiana's father, James, apparel as well. Though not as much, since I studied the time period.
Again, Louis was the easiest design for me, but I guess it was also due to digging it out of my imagination.
This was probably inspired to listening to the soundtrack too many times. Especially how strong Micheal Leon Wulley is when singing(I mean, I guess being in the show Ain't Misbehavin' gives him a good form of expirience).
So, to end it on a short note, here's my vision. Eat it!
