Personality: She is intelligent but often says things that make her seem less so. She's rather pessimistica about life. Not very often, but there are times when she just wants to end it all (her brother brings her out of those times, though). She doesn't have it in her to stand up for herself. She feels responsible for her siblings' deaths, and wishes she cou;d've done more to save them. She tries to be funny, but her attempts at humor are dry and not very funny. She is rather quiet, and is good-natured.

History: She and her three sblings hatched in the jungle outside Rio de Janeiro. She and her brother Rafael were usually bright, happy, and upbeat, and their other two siblings were rambunctious and always getting into trouble. One day, their parents went out and tasked Astrud with watching over the two. While the rambunctions ones were rough-housing, they fell out of the nest. Astrud called for them to come back, since they were running off into the jungle without a care in the world. She told her brother to stay put and wait for her. Though she was afraid of heights, she jumped out of the nest and ran after them. Soon she heard them screaming, and it was not the screams of playing. Frantic, Astrud kept running, and when she found them a couple minutes later, she was horrified. A snake was coiled around the lifeless from of one of her siblings, and had just finished swallowing the other. She tried to fend off te snake, but it was no use.  Two of her siblings were dead and gone forever. She broke down on the spot. Her parents and brother showed up a few minutes later, and by then the snake had slithered off. Astrud was shaking uncontrollably and couldn't even bring herself to tell them what had happened. All she could say was "Snake". Her parents and brother out 2 and 2 together and realized what happened.

The remnants of the family had a difficult time getting over their losses, but Astrud was having the hardest time of all. Even after she and Rafael were fully fledged and had left the nest, Astrud was just not the same. Since then, she's lived alone and avoided the company of others; she's afraid to form any bonds or attachments to anyone because she doesn't want to lose anyone else.
