Personality:  She is moody (but is careful not to hurt or insult anyone), assertive and sticks up for others, wary, and protective. She is not easily fooled. She is reasonable, good-natured, social, tactful, sometimes stubborn but mostly with good intentions, and serious when she feels like it. When someone messes with her, she can get very aggressive and loud. She still grieves for the loss of her sister Tika.

History: She is originally from Montreal, Quebec, where she lived with her parents and siblings (2 sisters, 1 brother). She didn't get along at all with her sister Moira or her brother Daumier, and they bickered and fought often. But she did get along with her other sister, Tika. The two were good friends, and hardly ever fought. In the days before winter, the family would prepare for migration. When it came time, they took off and headed south, toward Mexico. Both the trip there and the return trip were uneventful. During the next return trip, however, things took a turn for the worse. Her mother, brother, and Tika were shot down by a couple of hunters on a hunting trip, leaving only her, her father, and her unbearably irritating sister Moira. Emm was deeply saddened by the loss. Soon, their father took up with a new mate. She seemed nice at first, but it turned out she considered herself "perfect", and expected others to do things her way, and if they didn't, she would take out her anger and frustration on them. Such was Emmanuelle and Moira's new life. Moira took a great pleasure out of watching Emm being beaten and yelled at by their stepmother. After a couple weeks, Emmanuelle couldn't take it anymore, so she left in the night, headed south. Along the way, she was blown off course, and days later, landed in Brazil, a few miles from Rio de Janeiro. Unfamiliar with her new surroundings, she went to find someone who could tell her where she was. Soon she found Rafael, who was surprised because he had never seen a bird like her in or around Rio, or ever at all. After he told her, he showed her around, letting her experience the local sights and sounds. After the mini-tour, he asked her why she was here in Rio, and she told him. Rafael, not expecting a life story, was surprised. Changing the subject, he told her that Carnival was coming up and asked if she'd like to watch it. Emmanuelle wasn't sure what Carnival was, so she said yes out of curiosity. During the next week, Emm explored Rio more. When Carnival started, she watched, curious. She was amazed by all the lights and colors, and the music, never having seen or heard anything like it before in her life. She loved it. That night, she got little sleep, as she couldn't stop thinking about Carnival. Soon thoughts of her sister entered her mind. Emm was saddened, and started to cry. She wished Tika were still alive to have experienced Carnival. Emmanuelle rested on the empty beach, staring out at the moonlit water, away from others. The tears soon stopped, but the sting of sadness remained. The next morning, she had cheered up slightly, but not much. She took off from the beach, and set down on the roof of the local trolley, watching the sun rise. She again started to tear up, but quickly relaxed, feeling the wind in her face and through her feathers. During the next weeks, she made more friends, including Pedro and Nico. Many months later, when it was time to fly back to Canada, Emmanuelle was torn between staying here in Rio, or life back in Canada. She decided to stay in Rio. She loves it here, and nothing will make her change her mind. She still thinks of her sister often, but does not let it get in the way of things. She enjoys her friends, and spends time with them almost every day. Despite being the only Canada goose in Brazil, she wishes to remain mateless.
