Personality: She is generally friendly, or was, before the incident. Now, she is shy, and doesn't make friends easily. Her loyalty is frayed, and it will take some time to regain what she had before. She is open around friends, but shy and uncomfortable around strangers and humans. She only trusts Linda, who treats her with kindness, and is the only human she trusts. Some birds see her as a loner, and because of this, they mostly stay away. She used to be flirty, but now stays away from males mostly, but is regaining that.

History: She was born in a barn in Mexico to two birds, a male and a female red crested cardinal. She is only red with no black wings or white belly, making her very unusual. Her mother was imported, as was her father. They ended up being let go into the wild when their owners went to jail, and the people didn't care about the birds. They met, fell in love, and had some chicks. They had a great life together, and she was happy, until the owner of the barn couldn't take it anymore, so he decided to get rid of them by burning down the barn, since he had tried everything else, and it failed. It happened at night, and she was the only one that escaped. Later on, she collapsed, and was attacked by a raccoon, giving her scars. She escaped once again, and stayed in a tree to heal. She hoped that the scars would heal, and go away, but they didn't, and constantly remind her of that night. She flew away to get rid of the memories, and ended up in Rio De Janeiro. She lived in the jungle on the edge of town, and stayed away from other birds. She sometimes saw two blue macaws flying around and some chicks going after them, but never confronted them.

She later met Rafael, who decided to take her in. She proved to excel at babysitting, but still had problems. She learned to get a mean temperament from Eva, but wasn't as easily persuaded. She became a bit sassy around her family, and became more firm as time went on. When Rafael went to visit his friends that he called Blu and Jewel, she never went, since she was so shy, but eventually, after telling Blu and Jewel about her for weeks, Rafael invited them over to meet Julia. She was shy at first, and was scared by Jewel's can-do attitude, but they eventually became friends and she met their kids. They invited her to where they lived, and met Linda, Tulio, and Fernando. She liked Linda best, and always stayed by her side when she was there.

Then, Carnaval came, a few months after she had moved in with Rafael's family. She decided to watch it, and was mesmerized by the lights. She learned how to dance by watching the other birds, and tried it herself. She turned out to be a natural, and danced with the songs. That attracted the attentions of many birds, including Pedro and Nico, a red crested cardinal and a yellow canary. They talked to her, and found she was new, and they decided to bring her around, and introduce her to all the birds. She then found out that they were friends with Jewel, Blu, and Rafael. She didn't like Luiz much, but she put up with him. Then, Nico's smooth cousin, Rico showed up, and started flirting with her. She sort of took to his advances, and developed a crush on him. However, Pedro tried to out do him, since he liked her too. She had crushes on them both, but couldn't decide which one she liked best.

Then, she met a male bird named Romeo, who she instantly liked. She had him meet Pedro, Blu, Jewel, and Nico. She could tell he didn't like Pedro much, and she wondered why. Soon, she received love poems from a mysterious secret admirer. She was already writing poems for Pedro, but still liked the poems given to her. She still found Rico very nice, until he snapped at Pedro, and they began to fight over her. She broke it up and sent Rico packing since he had started it. Now, she only had Pedro and Romeo. Thankfully, neither was prone to violence, but just in case, she kept them apart as best she could. Soon, she began to write poems less often for Pedro, and instead began to write poems in general. The Toucan Kids didn't really like them, except for one girl, but that was it. Now, she is wondering who she should become mates with: Romeo or Pedro?
