History: Corsen was born on a small ranch in the North, where he, his mother, father and his two older sisters all lived, along with a few other horses. Corsen was the youngest of his family, and looked up to his sisters. He grew up with the foals that were also born at the ranch, and made friends with all of them. One of them in particular was his friend Firgrove. Firgrove was a smaller horse. He had big blue eyes, a dark buckskin coat, and a black, wavy mane and tail. Corsen and Firgrove were best friends and did every single thing together. Once they both became yearlings, the humans started selling off the others, and Corsen didn't like it. He didn't want to leave his family. His mother reassured him, and told Corsen that they would be reunited again soon. Corsen and Firgrove were both loaded into the same trailer, and hauled off to a new ranch. The ranch was bigger. A lot bigger. The horses were larger too. Corsen stuck by Firgrove the whole way. The two yearlings were put in a small pasture with two big stallions and a gelding. The two stallions nipped and bit at the new yearlings. Corsen tried to stand up for himself, and tried to help Firgrove, who was taking most of the hits.
After the three were taken in, Corsen and Firgrove were battered. Firgrove collapsed and Corsen stuck by his friend for the whole night.
The two were brought in, and both had tack put on them. Corsen was scared out of his mind, but tried to be brave. Firgrove could've cared less. Corsen couldn't handle the pressure of the metal in his mouth, and broke loose. Firgrove, somehow, ran after him, and in the process, knocked over a lantern, shattering it, and causing a fire. The two ran into the forest and ran, and ran, and ran.
After about four days of travel. They ran into a larger horse herd. Corsen looked at the biggger lead stallion cautiously before asking him where they were.
The stallion told them that they were in a place called the "Cimarron". The Stallion, known as "Spirit" let the two traveling horses stay in his herd for a few days to heal. The two soon nodded thanks as soon as they were ready, and headed off. They made it to a desert, and luckily, it was night time, but soon enough they ran into a small army of men and horses. They men shouted and ran after the duo. Corsen and Firgrove ran into the forest, but the men still chased after them. One of them threw a rope around Corsen, and the chestnut horse panicked. Corsen yelled at Firgrove to run, but his friend refused and jumped in front of Corsen. He tried chewing the rope of Corsen. A man on a larger horse pulled something out of his pocket, aimed it at Firgrove, and shot it. Corsen watched in horror as his friend collapsed to the ground. Corsen fell out of the rope as the men ran off on their horses. Corsen laid on the ground next to dying friend, and cried in sadness. Firgrove reassured his friend, and said he would see him again soon. Corsen shook his head and cried. His friend laid on the ground and passed. Corsen laid his head down on Firgrove's neck, and laid there, and eventually, fell asleep.
When he woke up, there were stranger people around him, but they were different from the other men. They softly threw a rope around his neck and got him to stand up. The moved his friend to a strange bed-like thing and pulled Firgrove away. Another man hopped on a silver looking horse and took Corsen the same direction. The silver horse talked to him, and he decided to talk back. He learned that the silver horse was a mare, and her name was Aridai. They soon came to be best friends, and Corsen developed a love for the mare. He came to like the humans who took good care of him, and soon, he and Aridai became mates. The men, who learned were called Indians, let him and Aridai go free. They traveled with Rain and Spirit, who Corsen got to know well, and they soon came to the same land were Corsen and Firgrove once traveled. Aridai had their first filly, who they named Firgrove, after Corsen's first friend.
Corsen realized, that life wasn't so bad after all, even if he missed his best friend, he loved his family, and hoped nothing ever changed that.
