Le Colonel du régment américain, qui croise la route de Spirit à plusieurs reprise.
Si certains voient en Spirit la liberté même, le Colonel y voit davantage le symbole de la conquête de l'Ouest: dresser ce cheval et la conquête réussira.
Malgré son rôle de "méchant", il sait reconnaître sa défaite et s'incliner lorsque l'évidence est faite.
