history.
"Like my father before me, I grew up as wild and reckless as thunder over the land. I was still part of his Cimarron herd, but every spare minute I could be found on my own, pushing my own boundaries. Racing the eagle, soaring with the wind, and outrunning my own shadow. For me, this was the true meaning of freedom."

It was an early morning in spring when Rain found a quiet spot near a little lake. It was quite warm for the time of year, and the sun provided a warm glow on her skin as she lay down. Beams of sunlight found their way through the thin branches of a willow, which stood tall and proud on the banks of the lake. The branches, full with fuzzy catkins, moved calmly in the breeze. Only an occasional rustle from the branches and the nearby buffalo grass could be heard.

It was here, next to the quiet lake on a warm spring's morning, that Rain gave birth to a filly. She knew her foal was safe, under the watchful eyes of her herd stallion and her foal's father, Spirit. This filly wasn't their first foal, and with help from the former lead mare, Esperanza, Rain had become quite the mother. She knew her foal would be safe and loved here in Homeland, with the Cimarron herd. The newborn filly had a fuzzy fur, which reminded Rain of the soft catkins. The filly threw her head up towards the sunlight, and the sunlight made the damp filly glitter. Rain felt proud whilst she looked at her daughter, whom was as soft and fuzzy as the willow's catkins. At this moment Rain knew how she would call the newest addition of the Cimarron herd: Willow.
